We went to diani in November, a family of 8 , to celebrate my wife's 50th, also our 15th wedding anniversary renewal, and our daughters wedding. On arrival we were greeted by all the staff singing and dancing, which was lovely, also a lovely cold drink.
The room
Was lovely, big comfy bed, lovely hot shower, and nice views, as you opened our door there were monkeys in the trees which were a constant treat, and great photo opportunities,
The food
Was amazing, no complaints at all, a wide variety to choose from, and not one of our party of 8 were ill the whole 2 weeks. If you miss breakfast there is a snack bar were you can get lots of lovely pizzas, I likes egg and chips, even though it wasn't on the menu, they were happy to make it for you
This was our 4th trip to Kenya, and this was by far the best hotel we have stayed in, not that we would ever dream of complaining in a country like Kenya were the people are so lovely and have so little, it's so hummbling to see how amazingly happy the kenyan people are.
My wife's 50th
The hotel went out of there way to make it so special for her, we had a lovely dinner, then all the lights went out and all the staff sang and danced up to our table with alit birthday cake, it was so lovely, my wife was in tears.
Ours wedding renewal
Reason the wedding coordinator arranged the whole day for us, the gardener a worked for hours and hours preparing the area of our renewal, with beautiful flowers, it was truly amazing, even the registrar was funny and amusing making us laugh, everyone came to watch and clap and cheer, and it was the best day of our lives, if you want music, take your iPad and buy these amazing tiny speakers quite cheap, to get an amazing sound
My daughters wedding
Well what can I say it was just incredible, I would absolutely recommend anyone wanting to get married to do it abroad, it is so stress free and so beautiful, unlike doing it in this country, expensive and probably rain.. The whole day was beautiful, and for the wedding meal we booked to go to Ali babas cave just up the beach, unbelievable meal and amazing place to be, especially on your wedding day,
We went in safari with wt safaris who we e.mailed back here in England, we paid 495.00 each for 2 night 3 days at the fig tree lodge on the Masai mara, wt were amazing they picked us up the next day after our arrival and took us to there office to organise it all, we had very specific times we could fit it in, with weddings etc, and they were brilliant.
All in all we have the most amazing memories, and we love Kenya so much, that we never want to go anywhere else, as nowhere compares to this beautiful country, so therefore I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if your thinking of getting married, you won't regret it.

big loss, zero entertainment; people are nice and friendly but in general its a waste of time. One bar open at a time. no food available after 10pm and stupid dress codes. WiFi is horrible and only from 6pm to 10pm. Lack of confidence to leave things by the pool. hardly any activities for people staying here. generally stay away.

Room Tip: traveling with children the family room is ok

Went to Diani Sea Resort for two weeks for a wedding we were a group of 28, had a few problems with our room the first one had a double bed and we had orderd a twin room but this was quickly sorted, the second room we kept getting brown water through our taps we complained a number of times and each time the hotel sent someone who appeared to fix the problem but within half an hour it was back eventually we moved rooms again and this time everything was good, the hotel did all they could to accommadate us and nothing was to much trouble. The manager set out a big table in the resturant so all 28 of us could sit together and this was left there for the entire two weeks we were there, The hotel arranges little trips out for a small fee i went to visit the orphanage and took pens, pencils, and some sweets and i also visited the snake park where they let you handle some of the animals alough i did'nt as i'm a wimp.
We did a safari and booked with Joseph under the tree ( out the front of the hotel main gates turn left walk for about 5 mins and you will find him under his tree ) we did a 2 day 1 night and stayed at the salt lick this had breakfast lunch and dinner included and we saw all the animals apart from the rhino, our driver Joshua was fantastic and i would highly reccommend soing a safari.
We booked again with Joseph under the tree 'Shimba Hills' this was an ok trip with the highlight being the waterfalls however the walk back was tough but it was well worth it as the waterfalls were breathtaking.
All in all i would reccomend this hotel as the saff were great and the hotel itself was lovley, it was kept clean and so were the rooms with clean towles and bed linen

Stayed here for 2 weeks end January. Would return but there are a few things they could do better,
What was good - The rooms were spacious and clean and towles changed regulary and sheets also changed regulary. The bathroom is big 2 sinks and a good shower. There was a couple of times where we had to shower in cold water and at 4.30am in the morning when you have to catch a plane home wasn't a good experience. The beds were very comfy and although the pillows were flat and hard strangely they aided a good nights sleep.
You have to pay for the safe it was about £2.00 a day and you get the deposit back when you leave. Beach towles are provided and they are quite large and clean. Sunbeds are easy to get although people do reserve these early with towles so keep this in mind we never had a problem getting one. Pool area is ok and the pool clean and warm, we did here they are closing the hotel to do a referb on the pool but dont let this put you off as the pool is clean just a liitle old and tired. The beach is lovely and there is a constant breeze which keeps you cooler as the pool area was too hot for us this was a welcome breeze.
the grounds are very maintained and clean ( MONKEYS) yes there are a few you need to keep your doors closed as they will go in your rooms and take anything they can get. Yes residents do feed them and Yes I was guilty of this for the first couple of days as I love animals, but I would advise you dont, as tempted as you may be as they can be a pain.
FOOD - Breakfast was fine plenty of choice lunches again ok you can go to the resturaunt or eat by the pool. The only thing that let the hotel down was the evening buffets that they do 3 times a week these were a little dissapointing and on one occasions the hotel manager aplogised for the quality. I must admitt you can always find something to eat and remeber it is Kenya and not a 4* in London ( obviously some people expect too much ) You get what you pay for. There is lots of fresh fruit, pasta dishes and the fish was lovely. We did eat out 3 times at (The Cave) this is a must!!!! book it at the hotel and a car will collect you and bring you back.
There were a number of English who regulary return to this hotel and I would recommend it and we will be returining to Kenya and would retuern to this hotel.
Safari - Do not book with Thomson you will pay at least £200 pound more and from listening to a number of brits who did a number were very dissapointed and complained as they had to book out of rooms and were treated badly by drivers. We booked with Joseph ( WT Safari's) he is on the beach and has a name badge a very lovely honest man, we are using the complany again when we return so are a number of others we spoke to ( do not mix him up with Joseph under the tree outside the front of the hotel this is a different company). Overall a good experience only let down by the buffet evening meals but as I said if you dont like it go the the CAVE. I WOULD recommend this hotel as staff are friendly and helpful and no hassel received.

We arrived to dancers and drummers for a two week stay at this hotel, it really is three star nothing more nothing less! the hotel is value for money and an added bonus good location for getting out and about which we took full advantage of. the staff are very helpful and will happily oblige most requests, the food is a little bit of a let down although we always found something to satisfy our hunger, likewise with the drink the cocktails are a little lacklustre and the local spirits are poor quality, the rooms are basic but comfortable upgrades are available at 14.00 per night for this you get a fridge possible sea view and tea and coffee making facilities, having stayed in this region twice before I can honestly say the beach boys at this hotel are in particular a right pain in the .... they just do not give up the chase a few choice words required I think. We found some very nice local restraunts Leanardoes, forty thieves Nomads all worth a visit. a worth while hotel in a good area.

Room Tip: up grade when you get there this seems to suit the hotel and they get all the money that way not the sales person.
