My husband and I recently decided to get away from Nairobi for a romantic weekend on the coast. Overall, our stay was a mixed bag. The hotel gets major brownie points for providing free shuttle service from Ukunda airstrip and free wi-fi in the common areas. The first room they gave us, however, was less than acceptable. There were stains on the bedspread, dead bugs and hair in the bathroom, and the toilet didn't flush. We were able to change rooms to one with a bathroom that was more recently remodeled. The garden view rooms are relatively far away from the main lodge and pool, but that main area was quite nice. The beach is spectacularly beautiful and we were very content to lay out by the pool during our stay. We organized a snorkeling trip through the hotel and were very happy with the outing. The food wasn't very good, but there was plenty of it.

Myself and my partner stayed at leopard beach resort in january for 10 nights for our honeymoon. It was amazing. The staff are polite and nothing is too much trouble for them. We stayed in a superior suite and the room was superb. The cleanliness of it was brilliant and all amenities worked fine. The food was outstanding. I would recommend going for the gourmet package which lets you eat in the chui grill, main restaurant or pizza restaurant. The level of service we recieved in the chui grill was world class enough to rival any 5 star restaurant. The hotel facilities were superb and all in all we could not fault this hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting kenya and would certainly re visit this hotel in the future.

I booked directly with the hotel on line, and they required my credit card and passport scanned and sent to them.Within 24 hours the card had been used by 3 Kenyan based IP addresess to buy goods and services around the world.
I had to get new cards sent to me, cancel standing orders check every transaction and make a police report.

The hotel's initial response was denial, and then an 'investigation' which has so far produced no results.

Also I booked a room for my 17 and 20 year old sons and on arrival they were given aroom with a small double bed to share, it was extremely difficult to persuade the hotel this was not acceptable.

The food is very ordinary for this class of hotel.

On the plus side the grounds are beautiful and the staff helpful and friendly.

We arrived on 14th December for 2 weeks. We were part of a group attending our son's wedding on 17th December.

We found all the staff to be very friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed trying to use some local phrases when talking to them although they all spoke English.

Our room was a very good size with a good view from the paved patio area which was tended each day.

The hotel provided us with an excellent day on the day of the wedding. We were all very pleased.

The facilities were excellent and that included the beauty treatments offered by the hotel.

We enjoyed an overnight safari booked at the hotel and a day visit to Mombasa. Again we found our tour guides to be knowledgeable and very helpful.

We could not fault the quality and wide choice of the food available - something for everyone.

Everywher e was secure and the grounds were beautifully kept and tended every day.

We travelled to the Leopard Beach with 8 of our friends and family for our wedding on the 17th December. From the moment we arrived we were sereiously impressed. I'll start with the wedding. Having been to Kenya many times, Leopard Beach had been recommended as a great wedding venue, and it didnt disapoint. The wedding coordinator (Salome) was in touch with us straight away to go over documentation etc, and the next day we had a meeting with all the heads of department to choose flowers, food, drinks, spa packages etc etc. We had pre-paid for the top package, and everything we had requested had been done, there were no quibbles etc, and in fact i would say they even exceeded our expectations when it came to the flowers and food. The hotel and staff made the day as stress free as possible, the flowers were beautiful, as was our choice of venue, the post wedding drinks and food were excellent, and the evening meal was incredible. They made a fantastic effort and we couldnt fault them at all, Hannington the F&B guy was amazing. All in all, it was the perfect day, and the hotel and staff couldnt have done any more to make us feel special on our big day, and in fact for the whole of our 3 week stay.
As for the holiday/hotel, the standard rooms were very good, spacious and very clean, the only thing being that the bathrooms are a litle dated, but again, very clean. My parents had a superior room which was bigger, with a flat screen t.v and terrace. Myself and my wife had one of the cottages which was absolutely incredible. The hotels grounds are stunningly beautiful, as it the hotel in general. The staff are some of the best we have encounterd on our travels and coundlt fault them. The food was good in my opinion, with the Chui Grill particularly good. My only criticsim would be the price of the drinks. 295 shillings for a tuskers/any beer is very steep indeed, and in the evenings we verntured to Diani, (2 mins down the road) for drinks, as including the taxi it was still cheaper (130 shillings). The price is obviously a factor in the fact that I have never seen bar areas so quiet in the evenings.
Overall, a fantastic hotel, incredible service, beautiful surroundings, good rooms, and would recommend to anyone wanting a hotel in a very good location, all our friends and family had a fantastic time, thanks Leopard Beach. It would be the perfect score but for the price/value of the drinks.
