The centre, located along the main Diani Road, operates as a charity to help injured monkeys, and other animals, and to educate the local population to help protect the local Colobus monkeys and their environment. Much of the presentation was obviously designed for a younger audience, but the message was clear, and the cause so worthwhile. A guided walk through the coastal forest was worthwhile, learning about the local vegetation and seeing the animals enroute. Volunteers from around the world provide assistance to the organisation in helping at the site. Its innovative approach has seen power lines insulated and bridge ladders constructed over roads to help in the prevention of injury to the monkey population. Well worth a visit and your entrance fee is definitely going to a good cause. This is one way you can contribute to the survival of a species.
