Perfect time getting to see the real Kenya, locals and especially the tour guides make you feel very safe and extremely welcome. Bikes in good condition, no problems and an overall great experience.

If you want a real taste of Kenyan life then this is a trip not to be missed. Cycling through the local village, visiting the local orphanage/school, medicine man, local cooking, fruit market.....all by 1130am in the morning. Our guide was so passionate and knowledgeable. This was a highlight of our holiday. A large proportion of the cost goes directly to the village. Do take along pencils/books or any other resources that a school may need.

“Great excursion to break up a beach holiday”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 14, 2011

This trip is a great way to mix in something new to a beach holiday... The guides take you on a bike ride all throughout the local town, Ukunda, where you get to learn about local life. When staying in a resort it is difficult to get in touch with the real Kenyan way of life, but Diani bikes does a great way of making that accessible in a safe way. We saw a local school, saw how food is prepared and learned about traditional medicine. The guides are very knowledgeable and traveling by bike you see much more than on foot as you go into the hinterlands of the village. It is also a great way to give back to the community since the bike tour supports the local school and gives jobs to the women who teach the local cooking portion of the tour. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes, and sunscreen. Overall Diani bikes was an absolute highlight of my trip to Diani, and maybe even Kenya :)
