Snorkelling with dolphins and sea turtles, watching the underwater reef world, being guided and supervised by a bunch of super friendly locals, who will accommodate people of all swimming abilites and make everyone feel safe and welcome. All is followed by a yummy lunch, consisting of a locally sourced crab and fish, in a traditional Kenyan village. That was a day to remember, definitely worth every money!

We had heard great things about this outing but were definitely disappointed with the overall experience. The snorkeling portion is really superb but for a day starting at 7am and return at 6pm, the snorkeling portion is only about 1 1/2 hours. Most of the rest is transport and lunch. Transportation in a mini bus was really unconfortable because of really bumpy roads. The boat ride was fine but long - over one hour each way and much longer on the way to lunch because of rough seas. The lunch is very ordinary. Not much variety and seafood was limited to crabs and some fish fried pieces.
The staff on the boat is helpful and friendly but our snorkeling guide was in a rush and made the whole experience a bit stressful. If you can find an outing with better transportation options and a better lunch, go for it.

I have asked jschry to give us a date and name so as to check whether they came on our trip or one of the fake Pilli Pipa trips. Otherwise, the other recent reviews speak for themselves. The road to Shimoni from Diani is good all the way, it's only the Shimoni dirt road of 13kms from the main road that is a little bumpy just like any game park safari road. This is the real Africa.

We took a one day dhow cruise with Pilli Pip. You should do the same. The boat, the staff, the food, the location are all good. There`s plenty of diving during the day so you dont get bored. And everybody is looked after according their skill level. The reef where the snorkeling is done do not compare to red sea coral reef etc, but it`s ok. If you get lucky as we did, you can get the opportunity to swim with the dolphins. When a dolphin looks you in your eyes 10 meters below sealevel you know this is the place you have to be. So with dolphins the safari is excellent, without the trip is good. And please try the crab in the restaurant, it`s amazing. If you happen to bumb into a big shephard dog in the lavatory do not be afraid. This can happen :) All the dogs (three of them) on the island are lazy and friendly. So if you are longing your dog, there is even a surrogate dog for you to pet :)

We booked a day snorkelling with Pilli Pipa and had a great time. We were picked up in the morning and transferred to the port by Wasini island. Once on the dhow we had refreshments and sailed off to where the coral reef is to start snorkelling. The crew were absolutely hilarious and made us all feel welcome. They were also really helpful on the snorkelling trip, swimming down to the sea floor to point out rays, octopus, starfish and even brought a puffa fish up for us to hold! Then a seafood lunch was included which was served overlooking the sea and the food was really good.

The only downside was the choppiness of the sea!!! Obviously not Pilli Pipa's fault so I have still given them 5 stars, but I'm not joking when I say it was seriously choppy. 2 of our party were both sick over the side of the boat, so maybe take some travel sickness tablets if you're prone to seasickness!!!!!

We did a trip with our family of 4.
My kids ( 5 and 9 ) are average swimming pool swimmers, my wife is afraid of water BUT Captain Hassan and his team managed to make my wife go in the water and experience the wonders of the ocean! Since then she only talkes about snorkling.
I highly recommend Pilli Pipa to everyone who wants to do a water safari in Kenya!!
