Very beautiful, bit chilly in the water but worth the dip! Fun scramble up the rocks to get there - not for disabled/very elderly.

The waterfalls are halfway between Kalamata and Pylos in a hidden gorge. You can park in the town and walk down. The return journey is steep so take the car if you can. The road is largely unmade but is flat by dirt track standards. You do still need to descent further into the gorge but it is worth it. The colour of the water is either a crystal blue or milky green as a result of the underlying rocks. There is one impressive waterfall and several pools fed by water cascading over a small drop or slight slope. The canopy keeps the place cool but there is few place to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Well worth a visit, about a 12 mile trip from Nielson's beach club resort possible by cycle ride. Best visited on a quiet day so you get the full effect of this experience. A bit of a tropical haven.
Wear decent footwear to climb up to the top pool for an icy swim. Might be a tough little walk up for some.
We had a nice meal just before the 1 mile walk down, top of the unmade road.

Worth the walk although I found it a bit tiring (maybe because of the +35 Celsius). Swimming not advised but widely practiced at the waterfall. Better to wear shoes than sandals or flip flops. After the walk and swim do stop on the way back to the first villa hosting a taverna. Like already said by the travelers before, we had the best moussaka and souvlaki. Filling lunch for a bit less than 25euros.
