“Tsilivi Zakynthos”

A nice resort if not somewhat commercialised. There do seem to be a lot of 'British' style bars and a McDonalds.

However, there are a good number of Greek tavernas so for those seeking a more authentic Greek experience will not be disappointed. The food gets cheaper further away from the 'main drag' of Tsilivi you go. (Hotel Med onwards away from Zante Town direction).

The beach is narrow but long and very pleasant. THe best cove I found was by Alexandra Hotel which was picturesque with clear water and near to the hotel's facilities which are handy (food, drinks, toilets). You don't have to be a hotel resident to enjoy this stretch of the beach or the facilties.

Loads of supermarkets in Tsilivi and there are a couple of great fruit shops down the side roads (at the side of Maina Restaurant based on the 'main drag').

There are numerous excursion agents based on the 'main drag' and they are cheaper than travel rep excursions. Good excursions are the Top Cruiser and Caretta Turtle trips.

All in all, a good resort - worth a visit.

We spent a week here in May 2008, this was our first visit to Greece. We stayed at the Filoxenia hotel which provided self catering apts it was slightly out of the resort about a 15 min walk in which was quite pleasant. The apts were cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. The centre itself has a varied and wide selection of cafes and restaraunts these serve very good food, reasonably priced and service is excellent. We tried and would recomend Popeyes, Athena and the cafe opposite Family restaraunt for nice coffees and traditional greek cakes. The beach is lovely and the Moby dick restaraunt adjoining is very good and offer free sunbeds too. We did a few trips booked through Manfredas on the recomendation of other reviews and we were not disappointed good prices and good service. In general we found the local people to be very friendly and providing excellent service. If you are looking for a fun night try the two brothers bar very lively and entertaining
