Very good hotel and pool area which is right next to the beach.
rooms are very good and had a beautiful sea view even though
only partial sea view was booked.
food in hotel improved as holiday progressed.
only flaw was no fresh fruit only processed fruit at breakfast.
staff pleasant and friendly, excellent holiday.

Room Tip: Still had good sea view even though booking guranteed only partial sea view.

Just back from 2 weeks in the Zante Maris. The Hotel itself is clean, good location on the beach and the little village is great for restaurants and bars and just good for a wander after dinner really. The best part of the Hotel is the staff. So friendly and kind, they all really go out of their way to help you. I think the sunbeds are a problem though. On our first week there seemed to be more people than beds and so we would wake up around 8:30 and go outside and all the beds would be gone. I think a lot of people were doubling up too though which is just wrong, meaning that they were putting their towels around both the pool and on the beds towards the beach area as the pool was good in the morning and the beach area better for the sun in the afternoon. I ended up having to get up at 'silly o clock' just to make sure the two of us could get a bed around the pool. The all inclusive drinks at the bar could be colder. Most times I went to get a little drink, the bottles were warm and the ice had turned to water. The entertainment was okay, one female singer was just awful, she killed most of the songs she sang but we never saw her again thank goodness. The manager of the Hotel is brilliant, he runs around day and night making sure our holiday is the best it can be. The reps 'swop box' in the reception area was fantastic. The idea is that you can leave any shampoos and suntan cream that you haven't used etc in this box when you leave the Hotel to go home and you can also take from the box if you run out of anything. On our second week we had run out of suntan cream and was about to buy some from the shop, we looked in this box and there was three full bottles of the stuff so we grabbed one. Great idea. The food was good, hot and always replenished. The pasta night not so good but otherwise I had no complaints. We were fully inclusive but we ate out a couple of nights just so we could get a break fromt the food at the Hotel. So all in all, a good two week break and the staff really made the holiday for us. I don't think we would go back, we have stayed in better Hotels but the resort itself is very nice and I would recommend.

This hotel did not fail to disappoint, the only thing that did were the moaning brits around the pool. Can we not even go on holiday and enjoy ourselves?!
So the hotel was fantastic, from check in we were made to feel like family and staff in general were helpful with anything needed. The food superb, All inclusive was a great option for myself and family as we upgraded the day afer arrival and we saved lots.
I must also mention the First Choice Reps as they do not get enough credit for all the hard work they do. Matt and Rachel were the best we've come across and we've travelled with Thomson and FC for 9 years now. A massive thank you to Rachel who catered to our every need. From recommendations and even down to remembering my sons 10th birthday and making it special!
Tsilivi was a great resort with plenty going on for everyone...recommend the waterpark too!!!!

We had a good holiday in the fantastic Greek sunshine and whilst this hotel is ok, there is definitely room for improvement.
Location is great, being beachfront means you have a choice of pool or beach, or both! Hotel sunbeds on the grassed area mean you have a sea view without the expense of hiring beach sunbeds. However, there were huge issues with actually getting a sunbed at all, since guests were reserving them before going to bed then not appearing until afternoon! The beach and pool areas were not checked by hotel management, so were used freely by guests from local self-catering apartments. Hawkers roamed freely and were very annoying, appearing sometimes every few minutes. Again the hotel did nothing to stop this. Music round the pool is horrifically loud and makes it impossible to relax. Grassed area sunbeds round to the left are quiet, that's if there are any left by 7am....
Pool area floors are dirty, not cleaned, just swept by one poor lady with a broom.
Rooms are spacious, clean, beds very comfy but bathrooms cramped, and the plumbing was a law unto itself. The bathroom flooded everytime we had a bath or shower. After the 3rd time of reporting this, we gave up - the management were just not interested. Again, when we had a problem with a missing item, they were disinterested and even quite rude "what do you expect me to do about it?" was the response from the night receptionist!
Several times, we saw staff being bawled out by their supervisers in the dining room - this made me very uncomfortable. Definitely not appropriate in front of guests.
Food is good - and I am quite fussy! It was always hot and fresh. Breakfast could not have been better - this is the only hotel I've ever stayed in where the fried eggs are perfect! Bread a bit disappointing, but hey, with fresh croissants every morning who needs bread!! Lovely selection of salads each evening, together with good range of hot foods and always a veggie option. Very clean and hygenic - chef and all staff seen eating the food each night and none of us had any tummy troubles. Avoid the "beach barbeque" though, as this consisted of the meat being cooked at 4.30pm for 8pm service and I watched the so-called chef squirt lighter fuel on the coals which went all over the meat as well!
Entertainment is dire, I felt quite embarrassed at times by the shoddiness of it. There is also absolutely nothing here for the kids apart from the pool/beach (our daughter is 9). I got the impression children are merely tolerated rather than encouraged here, it is more geared for adults really. If you use this hotel as a base and go B&B or HB, there are things to do out and about. Recommend mini-golf behind Molly's Bar.
Highlight of the holiday was the two boat trips with Captain Spiros (Levante)- Smugglers Cove/ Blue Caves and the Turtle Island. FANTASTIC! Not as cheap as some trips but the guy is a legend. He had my daughter steering the speedboat while he plaited her hair! Truly memorable days worth every penny, don't hesitate. Can be pre-booked at www.zantelevante.com, or there is a stand just up the road from the hotel.
Tsilivi is a nice little resort, pleasant little shops etc, a bit of life if you want it but nothing to disturb your nights at the hotel. Very short transfer to/from airport. Take drinks/snacks with you on return, the one airport snackbar in departures really takes the proverbial!!
Brilliant First Choice rep at the hotel, Matt. Best welcome presentation I've ever seen and he is genuinely helpful, very knowledgable and nothing is too much trouble. A credit to First Choice, give that guy a promotion!
Unfortunately, this hotel is going all-inclusive, so we would not return unless the entertainment and facilities for children was drastically improved, and something done about the noisy, overcrowded sunbed areas and constant approaches from hawkers.
A hotel in a nice location with lots of potential, but just not quite what it could be.

Just returned from a last minute holiday for 10 days to The Zante Maris hotel. We were pleased with the hotel and facilities. The hotel was very clean, rooms cleaned daily along with clean towels and the staff were very friendly.
We had requested a partial sea view, from our room(126) we could hear the sea but had to stand on the wall to see the sea, no big shakes really. But if you request a pool view you will definantly see the sea. We stayed All Inclusive which was okay, there was plenty of choices but it's not great if your not a big meat eater or a vegetarian. However there is a notice to inform staff if you have any specific dietary needs, As with most A/I it gets a little tedious after a while. They have one main restaurant and a beach and pool bar where you can have snacks during the day.The snacks are pretty limited, chips, pizza omlettes, sandwiches, burgers, toasties and of course salads but you have the choice of lunch at the main restaurant if you prefer more variety for lunch. You won't go hungry, but I would not say it is 4 star standard food choice, Quality is okay and there appeared to be plenty of what they did provide, kids may struggle if they are not willing to try whats available. Ice cream is available at the restaurant lunch and dinner but not from the pool and beach bar.If the kids want an ice lolly it's 2 euros, same as the crisps. Drinks at the restaurant are provided by staff from a trolley unless you use the juice machine. This is not ideal as you can be waiting for the staff to pass your table before you can have a vino to go with dinner, to be fair the vino is not something to cherish but I suppose that depends on individual tatse,You can have other alcoholic drinks or non alcoholic drinks as oppose to vino from the trolley. All pop is local cheap branded bottles, ice is always available, odd system for a 4 star hotel but it was okay. The all inclusive finishes at 11pm, this should really be changed to midnight or at least 11.30pm. The staff work incredibly hard and they are very friendly, generally its a good hotel, very clean, fab location and lovely atmosphere great place for families or couples. There are lots of things to do in the the resort so make sure you bring plenty of spending money, there are some lovely tavernas to eat or drink in(makes a change from the hotel) ,there are plenty of watersports availble, and the usual trips. Tip; if you want a fanatastic boat trip book to go on Spiros speed boat (levante trips),he offers a morning or afternoon trip absolutely amazing experience. Book in the harbour or in the town, well worth the money.
This hotel is definately worth a trip, we had a very relaxing time, stress free, staff were very commited to ensuring guests enjoyed their stay. We don't usually return to resorts but we all agreed we would like to return to the Zante Maris. Anna and family August 2011

Room Tip: ask for a pool view as you can also see the sea

we have just returned from a week at the Zante maris and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. the room we had was clean and tidy. the maid came every day. clean sheets and towels every day. the food is multi choice every day and a menu is displayed in the reception. they also have a couple of theme nights you can attend - greek night / mexican night. entertainment is basic. starts around 10pm every night and is usually bingo/pop quiz. Greek dancers on sat eve which was very good. you help your self to drinks if you are all inc. and they are all warm :( so plenty of ice is required. all the staff are friendly. the first choice / thompson reps are fantastic. very knowledgeable as they have been in zante for 2/3yrs. the beach beds around the hotel are free but when you go to the beach they charge 6 Euro for 2 beds and umbrella which is not expensive. you will be pestered on the beach by people selling watches, handbags, fruit, pictures, massage etc which became anoying after 2/3days. the beach is clean and only a little shale to walk through before lovely sand. the reception area is fully air con and is pleasant in the eve just to sit and chill. loads of shops a short walk away if you like to browse. definately go to the fantasy golf, bowling alley they are really good value for money. also walk to the waterpark it only takes approx 20mins. you get 30% discount from the hotel and lunch is inc. overall a great place to stay for a family hol.

Just come back from 2 great weeks in Tsilivi, highly recommend this hotel and the First Choice Reps Rachel and Matt ( think he was Irish) were fantastic. This hotel is clean , friendly staff and in a great location. The only down side was we booked 2 trips with one of the local shops on the first trip we were not picked up and the second one we were picked up only for the bus to break down . we were then left on the bus in 35 degree heat for over an hour befroe been taken back to the hotel. When we asked for a refund we were told to come back later . we went back twice and never got our money back. Thankfully the First Choice Reps manged to book us on the one of there trips last min . Turtle Island cruise it was called and what a great day out. This was the only bad point of the hoilday by trying to save 10 euro we ruined 2 days of our holidays.................... We will defbe back next yr.
