“over 50's love this hotel”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

Having just read the previous review, I would like to say that we were there at the same time as this couple and I would certainly say that over 50's stay there for everything this hotel offers, even the dance music until 1am. If you looked in the bar late at night there were more over 50's and 60's (as we are) than younger guests. Guess they just cannot hack it??
We have returned to this hotel on numerous occasions and have always had a great time, which is why we return year after year. We have brought several of our family members with us on previous occasions and they have said they can understand why we keep returning to this complex as they have enjoyed it so much too. I also know that lots of other people feel the same way as we do because we meet so many people that have been there before. Thanks to Babbis, Dimi, Freddie, Nertila, Vicky, Pavlos, Thanos, Miltos, Catarina and cleaning staff for another wonderful holiday. Cannot wait for our next visit.

Overall, we had a very good stay at the Princess Hotel, the rooms are basic but about what we expected for the price, the main thing is they are very clean, as is the rest of the hotel. The staff are very professional, friendly and helpful and the pool and bar area is very pleasant. The only fly in the ointment was the loud boom, boom dance music which they insisted on inflicting on everyone up until 1am, a couple of nights.

Considering the clientele that were staying at the hotel at the time (we're in our 30's and 40's but most people were over 50) this music was unnecessary, especially when you go away looking forward to some relaxation and peace and you have to be up early for an excursion. It really was boom, boom, boom, bass turned right up, boom, boom, boom. I spoke to a few of the other guests, who were also disturbed and some complained, which seemed to do some good because after that they put on some 70s music and turned it down a bit.

I realise that you can't please everyone but I think something more mellow and quiet would be appropriate after say 11 at night, especially when most of the rooms are overlooking the pool and can't escape it and anyone who does want that kind of noise won't be at the Princess, they'll be in Ibiza or somewhere like that. They did better in the day, much quieter and relaxing although sometimes even that got a bit too loud. That said, the Greek night on a Tuesday was very good. Top quality entertainment for everyone to get involved in,

The hotel is in a very good location, lots of very good restaurants close by and the beach is very nice. I can recommend Nefis travel for your excursions and there's a very good riding stables right by the hotel, they'll take you for a lovely ride through the olive groves.

So all in all, a happy holiday, except for the boom, boom racket. I'd say to the hotel staff, look at your guests, do they really look like they're there for the loud dance music till 1am?

Another fantastic holiday at the Princess Hotel.I have been to other hotels in Tsilivi but to me this is the best.I really cannot understand why people write bad reviews. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the bed linen and towels are changed at least twice aweek. Thw cleaners work non stop. The pool and the surrounding ares are cleaned every dayand are spotless If anything is wrong with the room and the staff are advised they try their best to rectify the problem .(TO DIMI, BABIS FREDI NERTILA VICY AND THE REST OF THE STAFF A VERY BIG THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY HOLIDAY VERY SPECIAL)

Room Tip: If you are looking for a friendly place to stay this is it.

My girlfriend and I have returned today from a week at the Princess Hotel, and we can both say it was the friendliest, most welcoming, and enjoyable hotel we've ever had the pleasure of staying in. From the moment we were greeted by Babbis on arrival (at 4am), through the many Zante Island cocktails served by the friendly and jovial bar staff, including Freddie, Pavlos, and Catarina, and the extremely helpful reception staff including Dimi, we loved this place, all of the staff cannot do enough to help you enjoy your stay in this family-run hotel.

The room was typically Greek, small, reasonable facilities, shower over the bath and a nice view of the pool on a large balcony. The air con was worth the extra 6euro/day charge and worked well. There was plenty of wardrobe and storage space for the two of us, and the maid service was excellent, towels and bedding changed regularly. Safety deposit boxes and fridges are also available.

The pool was excellent - very clean, lots of loungers to catch some rays on even in the late summer sunshine of last week, and the music played out was decent too - not too loud so as to put you off reading a book, and the DJ seemed to have decent taste too, very little cheesy chart rubbish and lots of relaxing sounds and the occasional 80s classic! The beach is only a pleasant 10 minute stroll away and is lovely too.

The pool bar in the evening provided a lovely setting to sip a few drinks, was lively enough especially on the Greek night on the Tuesday - well worth the 15euros, but at no point did we feel the music went on too loud or too late so as to keep us or the other guests awake. I think the family who run the place have the right balance in this respect, and it's just one of the many reasons you'll hear fellow guests tell you that they come back to this place every year.

Breakfast was a simple affair, fruit salad, toast, cereal, ham/cheese/eggs, tea/coffee, and juice. Perfectly adequate, particularly if like us you'd been greedy and one of the many excellent tavernas in Tsilivi the previous night!

In summary, the hotel and its staff were fantastic - if we return to Zante on holiday this will be our only choice for accommodation. Highly recommended. Thanks to Dimi, Babbis, and all of the staff at the Princess Hotel for making our stay so memorable. Charlotte and Jake xx

only problem is if you stay in the rear facing rooms overlooking the allotments beware of the barking dog which is on the adjacent land , it is tied up 24hours a day and barks all day and night , and its a big dog a alsation , which starts the hotel owners dogs of which there are 3 in a cage , then there is also the cockeral which does what cockerals do at the crack of dawn and throughout the day , and the owner also has 3 birds in a cage that pecks the metal cage , if your a light sleeper it can be very very annoying and noisy , apart from that hotel is very friendly , clean , great location , and staff excellent

Room Tip: dont do rear facing rooms whilst dogs and birds are there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My partner and i have just returned from Princess Hotel 3 days ago.Soooo wish we were still there!!!The hotel is family run and Dimi and Babbis(the owners) are lovely and cannot do enough for you along with the rest of the staff. On our arrival we were speedily checked into room 205,which did not have much of a view and balcony was very small. We moved rooms the next day into 204 which overlooked the pool and bar area and balcony was much bigger.Rooms are basic, but adequate. There is no tea making facilities though so if the first thing you want is a brew when you wake up,take a travel kettle!!!Breakfast is continental, but plentiful and Thanos, the breakfast waiter is really freindly.Food in bar area is very reasonable and is delicious,we tried a few dishes and enjoyed them all.Pool area is lovely and clean and sunbeds are comfortable, although we went to the beach most days(10 min walk away).Greek night every Tues is a must, everybody is up and participating with the dancers, even the managers and staff and bbq is lovely.Price is 15 euros per person and well worth it.The hotel is off the main street in Tsilivi, resteraunts and bars on the doorstep, but tucked away enough as not to hear any noise.A must to try is majestic and family resteraunt, food is amazing and staff are so freindly and accomodating.
Will defo be booking for next year, one of the "freindliest"hotels we have stayed in............cant wait!!!!!!!!

we stayed at mavrias complex 3 on 16th aug to 30th aug, it was fab, red hot too! we went there to get marrried and the room we booked was not what we got, it was nice though just dawson and sanderson made out we had one of the better rooms. The staff, Freddie and Katerina were lovely really helpfull and kind, we never ate there for tea but had plenty lunch's there so when people say they only talk to you if you spend every night eating in their resturant they are clearly wrong. Very central to everything although the beach is a good 20mins walk in 38 degrees and a 5 year old so not the best. We struggled getting a good sun bed even at 8am as all the beds bar 4 which are in the shade till 3pm where all taking with towels and it clearly states not to do this. In the 14 nights we were there our room was cleaned every day but the bed linen was never changed just beds made up and towels were changed twice. We had bought lilo's and dolphins ect for the children and around day 7 they all dissapered from the pool area never to be found again. All in all the hotel/appt where nice.
