Hotel is lovely, clean & modern, Rooms lovely size for 4, mini fridge & air con for hire if required ( air con definately was in august ) pool area great & breakfast is more like a full english than continental. Hotel is cleanist hotel we have ever been to, they are cleaning all the time & clean everything !!!
Hotel is literally a 1 minute walk into resort, but in a quiet location
Resort is also great, lots for kids to do at luna park, massive bouncy castles, arcades, quad bikes, lazer quest, trampolines, paintballing & all reasonable. Favourite place to eat was the fish & chip shop ( lovel fish chips & mushy peas ) & staff so friendly there.
Tsilvi water park is a must 46 euros for the day & you get your lunch included if staying at this hotel.
Great family place & will definately return again

We arrived at the Contessina 2 weeks ago desperately in need of a complete rest. We were told that we had been given a family apartment and would have to move after 2 nights as they had a family arriving! I presume this was due to overbooking and there was no other room for us. The apartment would have been good for anyone who needed 3 single beds and one double – apart from the fact that when we had a storm one evening the bedroom with the main door was flooded as the door didn’t fit! We had to live out of suitcases for 2 days because of the move, it wasn’t worth unpacking so we were less than happy. We were told to go to reception after breakfast on Sunday and we would be told what time we could move, hence taking up more of our precious holiday. We asked to see the other room before we moved and were given the choice of two. We chose the room above reception overlooking the road which was a really nice room, refurbished, very clean (as is the entire hotel) and it gave us some privacy as we weren’t overlooked. The balcony was in the shade which suited us but may not be so good for sun-worshippers. The only problem we did find was that the corridor outside could be very noisy at times. Having said that, we were well away from the barking dog which kept us awake in the first block (at the far end of the swimming pool).

Plenty of choice at breakfast but not enough tables and we sometimes had to wait for one to be made up, the breakfast staff were very helpful though. We didn’t use the pool but did notice that there were towels on the sunbeds by breakfast time!

The cost of air con, fridge and safebox was high, I feel the safe should be included in the cost of the holiday. Luckily we didn’t need the air con or fridge but it would make a big difference to the cost of the holiday if you were there in the height of the season.

Very comfy bed once we'd removed the crunchy waterproof matress cover which made for a very sweaty first night!! Good size bathroom with powerful shower - it did leak at times so we used the bathmat to soak it up, not really a problem. Good size bedroom and plenty of wardrobe space. No kettle so take your own if you want a cuppa. Fixed hairdryer in the bathroom. No complaints at all about Room 207 once we finally settled there!

Tina, on reception, is lovely and all of the cleaning staff are cheerful and polite and work so hard. We couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the hotel. I understand the remainder of the rooms are being refurbished at the end of the season.

We loved Tsilivi and had a very relaxing holiday which is what we were looking for. The sea is very clear and does vary so please walk along further if you’re looking for sandy areas because they can be found. Hotel well situated for the beach and tavernas. All in all, a good holiday but not sure if I’d return to the Contessina unless they sort out their overbooking problem as I know others were in a similar situation. I would recommend to friends but with caution.

My husband and I have just returned from a 10day stay in the Contessina Hotel and had a great holiday. This hotel was immaculate, the maids are constantly cleaning all day and our room was spotless, fresh towels and bed made every day. Breakfast was more than adequate, hot and cold food and on he days we had a lie in the restaurant next door did a great breakfast for 4 euro.Resort was good but beach very shingly and rocky, bring flipflops to get into the water.Once in, the water was beautiful a lovely sandy bank so you can go in quite far. The pool was great and Mary and Rosa very helpful A bit noisy at night with music from bars, dogs barking and cockrels.Restaurants were all great and very reasonable.

What a lovely end to our holiday-4 days in the Contessina Hotel. We travelled independantly and decide to do 7 days in Kalimaki and 4 days in Tsivili-wish in hindsight that we had done it the other way round.
This Hotel is great-we stayed in room 220-overlooking the pool- it was spacious ,clean and the bed was really comfortable. The room has the usual air con,two pillows each and a hairdryer, safe and good sized wardrobe
The Staff are all helpful and constantly cleaning-even the glass retractable roof! The pool is very well maintained as we observed during our late night coffee breaks on the balcony. The breakfast offers a lot of choice and snacks are available from 10am if you sleep in. There are plenty of supermarkets, bars and restaurants nearby and a launderette which charges 5e for a wash and 10e for a wash and dry-you just drop it off and return a couple of hours later to collect it. Moby Dicks down in the main Resort does a great breakfast ,snack and offers free sunbeds.and Benichos down near the bowling alley is also worth a visit. all in all we really enjoyed our stay here.

Hotel nice, emailed a wk before requesting a refurbished room overlooking the pool if poss' which we got.Proper shower cubicle,a little on the small side for some but good to have a proper shower.Took own coffee as usual but unfortunately did'nt have kettles in room.Hairdryer in bathroom.Breakfast nothing to write home about, was ok but went next door to Sunset a few times to have b'fast.Snack menu in hotel looked quite good and quite a bit of choice. Some drinks a little expensive compared to outside.Left a bottle of wine/card in room on our Anniversary which we thought was nice:)Due to extra cost of air con thought we'd try without, room hot, opened doors then you could hear dogs/cockeril nearby so did pay for a couple of nights when days had been v.hot.All in all really nice hotel particularly if you like sitting by the pool all day which we don't so shame about resortTsilvi !beach not good, busy in Sept so what's it like peak season?V.narrow, apparently it has shrunk!Food good but your sitting in a greek restaurant greek music playing then next door you've got karoke blaring out!If going to Zante town get some info as we did'nt find much there.Rep told us in welcome meeting St.Nicolas beach is nice, thought we'd book up next day as buses infrequent only to be told they don't do that trip any more!Boat trip round island 18 euros, get to see shipwreck & 2 other swimming stops, long day, probably better off doing just the s'wreck/half day.Seen much nicer beaches/resorts in Corfu/Portugal.

Thank goodness for the Contessina Hotel. We had just endured 5 days and nights of the Planos Beach Apartments and requested daily for a transfer to more suitable accomodation. Luckily the Contessina Hotel had availability albeit we had to pay and additional charge it was worth every penny. As it was only then we could begin to relax and enjoy our holiday.
I can only describe the change as going from a 1* to 5*, and we were not even in the refurbished rooms. Mary at reception was kind enought to allow us to view the refurbished rooms which were of a high standard and informed us that the remaining two floors will be refurbished at the end of this season.
I can only reinforce already what has been said about the exceptional high standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel.
The staff make you feel welcome and do go out their way to ensure you are happy with all the services provided and more.
It was refreshing to find a mix of nationalaties staying at the hotel with the majority of hotel guests being return visitors.
The location is ideal, just far enough away from the noise of the main street and a few minutes to the beach.
We would not hesitate to recomend this hotel and are already considering for a return visit for next year.
It remains to say a big thank you to the Contessina Hotel and staff for making our holiday and special thanks to the following for making it extra special. (Mary, Tina, Rosa, Cindy, Yodah, Ronnie and last but not least ILias.

The hotel contessina is a pretty good hotel and one of the better places to stay in tsilivi as there are alot of studios/apartments that are quite basic. Our first impressions were very good, from the outside it looks great, inside even better. The reception area was lovely, pool area/pool bar was all really nice looking. We checked in and i was abit shocked as they told me the cost of the air con, fridge and safety deposit box. It's bad enough to pay for air con but to pay for a fridge is something i have never seen before and i decided against it as it was 6euro a day... i could buy one for that as i was there 2 weeks.I decided to have the aircon as i struggle to sleep without it, they charged 98euro !!!!!!!! for aircon for the 2 weeks i was there, gutted.
We had read all the reviews on here and were so excited because it sounded great and looked brill, well when we got to our room we were gutted. It was not nice at all, 2 small pine beds, awful bathroom, 3 things broke in the bathroom. We spoke to reception and the problems were fixed straight away and we managed to move to a better room 3 nights later. This room was like the ones in the pictures, probably the rooms people refer to as refurbished rooms, we were alot happier then..
The cleanliness of the whole hotel was amazing, the staff were great. Breakfast was good although not enough tables at times so u had to wait or come back later. Pool bar was nice and the food they served was spot on. Only moan i have about it was the cans of pop were 2 euro's yet they were 60 cents next door at the supermarket, the beer prices were ok though.
Location was not bad, afew minute walk to the beach and only 2 mins away from plenty of bars and taverna's. I agree with an earlier comment that the beach is getting smaller, I was in tsivili 2 years ago and its deffinately smaller. I think the resort needs a real cash injection and its becoming very tired and scruffy, the toilets on the beach were disgusting. But still i like this place and will probably go back, not sure id stay again at this hotel..i found the zante maris hotel to be far better.
