I have been to Zante twice and haven't stayed in Tsilivi before but can easily say its the nicest resort on the island! stayed at the Amarylis last week in August, Location you cannot fault its bang in center and an easy walk to where ever you want to go! not too noisy as well considering how close to restaurants/bars it is ! :) the hotel is spotless didn't see any dirt grime or unpleasantness at all! always kept clean and tidy! staff on the reception aren't great at English but enough to get by ! the rooms are HUGE! very nice and airy balcony a decent size too, bathroom quite small but usually are in Greece, fridge hob and sandwich maker in rooms too! air con is extra it was £45 for a week which we didn't buy so cant comment really. rooms cleaned nearly every day id say and towels and linen maybe every 2-3days, safe in room was 20Euros i think, i got this and used for a week, worth it and easy to use, the pool & bar area are also spotless and as other reviwes say cleaned every day and night! Anna and her two sons are soo nice and make you feel so welcome! Which is very nice and gives you a nice & friendly holiday! cannot credit enough ! try it for yourself you wont be disapointed !! :)

Some places in Tsilivi to try in my opinion,, Popayes, Gyroland, Plant Pub, Sambuca Bar, Paradise Bar, Ark Bar, :)

I'm 17, and my little brother is 9. We both felt like there is something for everyone, and the whole group who travelled agree that this holiday was one of the best.
The people working in the hotel feel like family, and are some of the nicest people I've ever had the privilege to meet. Everyone at Anna's Pool Bar were genuine, down to earth people who would often sit at our table and have a full conversation with all of us as they could speak unbelievable English. The food was delicious and very obviously cooked fresh by Anna using home grown vegetables.
The rooms were very basic, and the kitchen was tiny however manageable. The rooms were pleasant however, as they were cleaned every day, and the cleaners were polite and genuinely nice to talk to. The air conditioning is priced very cheap when we compared it to other places we have stayed.
We have heard that next year the hotel will be available as 'all inclusive', with the food being made in the hotel's partner restaurant, Athena. During our 2 week stay, we did eat at Athena quite a few times and we enjoyed it every time.
The prices of Anna's Pool Bar (and surrounding bars/restaurants) were not cheap however they were affordable, the Greek economy mostly to blame for this! (A pint of cider at one bar was 5 euros).

I have rated the sleep quality as 'very good' but not 'excellent' due to the pillows being harder than I am used to back home, other than that it is brilliant as the music played at Anna's Pool Bar was turned down at a certain time. Our room was directly above the pool bar and we didn't hear a thing once our balcony doors were closed.

Amazing hotel, we got back home on the 9th September 2012 and we have already booked up to go back to the same hotel again, perfect and could not fault the place if I tried!

My wife and myself stayed here between 10/09/12 and 24/09/12 and to be honest it is very basic, if you do want to cater from time to time it is impossible. One pan to big to put on the electric coker rings which are part of the draining board, these are close to the wall the pan topples off, no toaster two forks no knives other than a carving knife which is no use what so ever. Whilst there is nowhoere to prepare food, no tables no chairs nothing! very basic though comfortable beds and it is clean. Pool bar owner Anna friendly as are the staff but dont bring your own drinks or food to the pool area or you will be told to leave or buy from the pool bar as it is her business. I thought self catering meant just that but not here. another downside is they are strict with the closure of the pool 18.30 sharp "you must get out" so if very basic is not for you then you should give this place a miss.

Room Tip: Complex is noisy whilst aircon costs 45 euro per wk extra, tv will cost you 35 euro per wk and if an...

What can I say.. fantastic week in Tsilivi - made even better by the staff at Amarylis.

I can echo all the comments below about Anna and the two lads who run the Pool Bar. Really friendly, would do anything for you and would cook anything! Even our rep told us if they don't have it in they will go and get it in - and we were proved right! Food here is spot on.

The resort itself is fantastic with so much going on. You can have as lively or as quiet a stay in Tsilivi as you wish and even though Amarylis is central, it is set back off the road and you don't hear a thing! There is a supermarket right accross the road too which is handy and the walk to the beach is short.

There are clubs open til the early hours .. 6am some of them.

Molly Malones Irish Bar and Club was fantastic - entertainment was spot on, live singers, Irish bands, Fire Shows - staff take drinks orders from your table to so no need to even get up and go to the bar. Staff even remember your orders and would talk to you in the streets or in the supermarkets etc - we even got offered a lift up to the club one night since it was raining.

Breeze Bar was also a favourite - Dennis and Tassos and the rest of the staff were class. Always up for a laugh. If you do go here, tell them Matt from Darlington said they have to show you their dance to "Call Me Maybe".

If you book with Thomas Cook, thier party night is also worth going to but get there early if you want a seat!

Drinks prices in Tsilivi averaged at 2-3 euros depending where you went for a pint of Mythos. Guiness and others expect to pay up to 5.50 euros.

We ate out at various places - our faves were Popeyes for lunch and on an evening Romios could not be faulted at all.. neither could Obelix (Say hi to Nikos!). Athena who the studios link with was average but maybe that was the meal we ordered on the night... couldn't fault the staff.

Also had an evening meal in Zante Town.

Taxi to the town was 11 euros each way. Not bad if there is a group of you as a bus is about 1.60 euros each one way and not very reliable! They work on "Greek Maybe Time" - if they come, they come!

We did trips to the Shipwrek and the Turtles through our rep but if we went back we would go with one of the local travel - Nefis. The Thomas Cook boat didn't have a glass bottom like the other tours did.. but make sure you take your swim gear on board as the swim stops in the crystal clear waters are worth it !

Restaurant owners are NOT pushy to get you through the door. They invite you to look at their menu and then let you on your way. If you are not interested, or have other plans just say so :) Once you have been in once, they didn't bother us again as they know tourists like to try different places but always remembered our names and would take time to talk and ask about our day.

These studios were clean, tidy and we had our towels changed 3-4 times in the one week. We flew home at 6.40 am so kept our room on for 25 euros - this meant we had it until we flew home and not 12 noon the previous day so well worth it. We did have to change rooms due to other bookings but that was not a problem!

Some people have mentioned the language barrier and the pool not being cleaned.. when we arrived during the night we were greeted by someone whose English was not the best but she was not the usual receptionist.. she had clearly either stayed up waiting for us or had woken up just to greet us. However we understood what she meant and vice versa. All other staff on reception were fab and any issues I would suggest asking Anna or the lads from the Pool bar to translate - or ask your rep who has a good working relationship with the hotel. The Pool was cleaned daily

Met some fantastic people in Tsilivi - all of whom I will be keeping in contact with.

Room Tip: We liked the room we had - ground floor. When we kept our room on we were moved to the 3rd floor up...

Me and my family have just returned from this hotel 31.8.12 and it was fantastic. After reading previous reviews we was a bit apprehensive as it was our first visit to zante and the Amarylis but we didn't find a fault with the place, all be it the shower you needed to be of a short size not good for partner who is 6.5 ft tall but it was only a minor issue he managed very well but not the first time in Greece he has encountered this problem.
The pool bar and pool is well looked after by Anna, nico,Josef and Louis who were all very welcoming especially to my 2 boys. Nico did a fantastic job of the pool, cleaning it before he opened it of a morning and then again when it was closed on a evening everybody working tirelessly every day to keep everything clean and tidy. Anna was the cook and the food was fantastic my boys especially loved the pancakes and if by any chance they had run out of anything that was needed for these Josef went to the shop to get what was needed. Impromptu treats from Josef and Anna for both the adults and kids alike.
Shops and restaurants very close range majestic straight across the road very nice indeed and nearly everywhere we ate there was free ice cream for the kids and shots for the adults which was a nice touch.
The two brothers was completely manic but they made you feel very welcome even getting ppl up to dance I somehow managed to avoid this ( phew). Utpoia was also very nice the 2 girls who take your orders and money was very friendly and quite often they stopped and chatted also gave a bit of advice on certain things like which water park to visit etc.
All in all we had a great time and will definatly be returning in the future to see Anna and the gang they are a great team,as well as the hotel staff who went out the way to make sure everything was just right the owner always saying hello whenever he saw us.
The room we had overlooked the pool 2 bedroom apartment and as a bonus we had 2 balconies which was great as it meant the kids had their own so we had a little more space but it wasn't that much of a problem as didn't spend too much time on it.

Room Tip: Room 16 overlooks pool directly and a tiny bit of noise on a evening especially when football on lat...
