We stayed at this hotel for a wedding so were part of a large group. The rooms were very clean and modern, with their own balconies. Our small son slept on a bed/couch at the end of our bed which was great. The A/C was very effective and there is a decent sized fridge in the room. Our son loved the bathroom lighting, that was our only wow moment.
The staff were very friendly and attentive.There were two nicely sized pools and plenty of sunloungers and no shortage of towels so that was good. We found the pools to be a little on the cold side, our son usually loves the pool but he didn't want to go in as it was much too cold for him.
We didn't rate the food very highly at all. Luckily we had only paid for breakfast with our room rate. I just ate boiled eggs and fruit as the buffet selection was limited and not appealing. Our relatives had paid for dinner too and that was a buffet each night which they did not rate. In fact many of them joined us to eat out locally for dinner despite having already paid for the dinner buffet with their room rate. On our first day we had lunch by the pool and the fries were literally dripping in grease. On our last day we ate in the pool restaurant, the food was better than day one but the service was slow. We were at a table of ten, but still we did wait a long time for our food. The seafood looked amazing but after eating half of my meal I found a dark hair in it (not mine). My husband had the jumbo prawns and he found them delicious!
I don't think there is a better hotel on this island though, but I agree with other reviewers in that it is more of a very good 4 star, but probably the best place to stay if you have to go to Zante.

Room Tip: poolside rooms can be noisy, if you have kids go for a room without a view at the back, as there is poolside evening entertainment some nights.

we stayed 2years ago,the menu hasn't changed,the queues at breakfast and dinner were still appalling,tying not to fall over with your food in your hands.we stayed in room 530 and at night the smell of sewage was awful.they have added more rooms and a new swimming pool but the restaurant size has not changed,hence having to dodge with the other guests.the staff are friendly and helpful,great place to stay just don't have the food!!

First of all it is a great pleasure to know that our guests have visited us for a second time. Moreover we are pleased to hear you refer to our hotel as a lovely place to stay and to our staff as friendly and helpful.

On the other hand we are sorry to hear that you had mixed feelings about our property during your last visit. Especially we regret to find out that we weren't able to meet your expectations regarding breakfast and dinner. However, we must mention and assure you that our menus as well as our buffets have no similarity with previous years. Specifically, this year our famous and awarded chef Dimitris Skarmoutsos who is in charge of both of our restaurants has prepared special dishes with emphasis on Greek-Zakynthian taste following traditional techniques and using local products.

Regarding the reference of the smell of sewage you experienced from your room we would like to inform you that our resort never had such issues in the past. However in our attempt to improve this resort we take all comments seriously. Therefore, we would like you to know that we will of course take into consideration your comments mentioned and discuss with our associates the issues that you have noted to be reviewed.

I stayed here with my girlfriend between 13 - 24 of may 2012. our first impression upon arrival was wow. The reception staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them during our stay. Our room was a good size and cleaned on a daily basis. The staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful whenever we had a con station with them, and they all spoke English to a higher standard than most English people do. I would book to stay here again if I was to revisit the island of Zakynthos. The only thing I would say is the swimming pool was a little cold but that is probably down the the fact our trip was not in the height of summer when the air temperature and strength of the sun will be greater.

The lesante is really a lovely hotel with lovely staff however there are a couple of things that do let it down... The service in all areas is painfully slow! When you arrive you are greeted with a glass of bubbly and escorted to your bedroom by one of the charming reception staff. This is a lovely touch however you then have to wait for the bell boy to deliver your baggage so you can unpack and make yourself comfortable after the journey. This took a good 10 minutes and for the short distance that was reception from our room I would of preffered to just take my bags myself!
The breakfast bar is tiny and at busy times (9am ish) is absolute chaos! The variety is poor and average tasting and the wait is long for anything cooked by a chef (which is only omelet or pancakes) there are no condiments to be seen anywhere, you have to ask and by the time they arrive you will of finished eating! They don't give you enough for a proper cup of coffee or tea either so you have to keep asking for that also! If you go down earlier when it quite the staff are so focused on setting up you're lucky if you get coffee or condiments at all!
The gym is very poor indeed with old outdated machines and the cross trainer was out of order! We had a cloudy day and so I was going to use the sun bed but there were a couple of flies in the room which went mad when the lights came on so I had to abandon that! Its a hot country so you are going to get flies but in a 5 star hotel they should be on top of this! fly traps need to be fitted in the spa area!
The bedroom however was amazing! Jacuzzi bath tub, beautifully furnished and very spacious! Only complaint is very hard bed but that's normal for abroad!
The pool area is also lovely, the pool itself is very large and the whole area is extremely pleasant and relaxing!
Overall the hotel is very good as the staff are lovely, friendly and do try to be helpful and definitely the best in the resort for pool and rooms (we went and looked round several others) but this is a good 4 star not a 5! They want to charge more than double what we paid in may for a visit in August and to justify that they will need to invest in better gym equipment, softer beds and sort out the flies and slow service!!

With reference the note of the staff we regret to find out that their services didn't meet your expectations, however we do very often received comments from our guests that they find the staff to be professional.

Moreover this year the famous and award winning chef Dimitris Skarmoutsos who was one of the judges of the televised "master chef" programme in Greece has prepared his special dishes for the Ambrosia main restaurant and the ala carte Neptune restaurant of Lesante Hotel and Spa. The aim of our chef and his team is to present a Greek- Zakynthian taste following traditional techniques and using local products. We are extremely sorry that this approach wasn't able to meet your expectations regarding breakfast. Every observation is extremely valuable to us in our continued attempt for excellence, therefore all of your comments will be discussed with each respective head of this department.

With regards to the spa area and the flies that annoyed you in the room with the sunbed we should mention that we have never had such issues in the past. We have never had any comments from our guests about experiencing such an inconvenience with flies neither in the spa area nor in the hotel. Therefore, we suppose that this was a one time incident rather than continual.

Regarding the reference to the gym we regret this lacked your expectations however we would like to inform you that Lesante Hotel and Spa is a newly built hotel that has operated since 2009 and consequently the gym's equipment is only 3 years old.

Once again, we value your comments and they will be shared with our associates. As a management team we truly hope you will give us the pleasure of welcoming you back at the Lesante Hotel and Spa.

My friend and I stayed one week at Lesante and we had a really good time. The service is excellent and the breakfast delicious. The chef made tasteful pancakes and the greek yoghurt and the fresh fruit made every morning perfect. The only thing we missed on the buffet was some croissants. We tried the dinner buffet ones and it was ok, but not to exciting, could have had more greek specialties.
The rooms were bright and big with a little balcony were we had lunch in the sun almost every day, and the bathroom with two sinks were just what to girls on holiday wants. The gym and indoor pool was clean and the entire hotel gave a luxuries feeling to our holiday.
