Rating should be 3.5, don’t understand why Tripadvisor don’t give you this option!
As advertised the hotel is situated in an isolated cove, great for an all inclusive, adults only, relaxing break.
The management should be extremely proud of their staff who work diligently to satisfy every guests needs.
The food is good and varied, and quickly replenished, both at breakfast and dinner. I’m aware that some people complain about the temperature of the food, but with the numbers that they are catering for, it’s the nature of the buffet dinner. The option of A la Carte was taken and the food quality was excellent and hot. This restaurant shows the standard that the hotel can achieve.
Yes, there are wasps, but the hotel management is caught between a ‘rock and a hard place’. if they get rid of them they will be criticised, and if they leave well alone, guest complain! Unfortunately for the hotel this problem could dictate in the future whether or not people decide to come here in future!
As the hotel is very popular and opens for a set time ( Easter to October I believe) it has limited time to try and spruce up rooms, which are showing wear and tear, replacing well used bathroom and pool towels, and also replacing chipped plates and glasses in the restaurants and bars. I expect as the hotel is TUI only, the company are not providing resource to cover this problem. What TUI needs to understand is that people have paid good money to stay here in September and October and expect the same facilities and standards as the people who visited at the start of the season. It’s really very short sighted of them.
We enjoyed our visit but felt slightly let down with the cost cutting of TUI!

Just returned from a 10 day stay at the Atlantica Sensimar Hotel in Nissaki Beach.
We had an absolutely wonderful time here, with only a few exceptions.

Celebration

We had booked a swim up room at extra expense & given the hotel & TUI notification that we were celebrating our joint 60th birthdays together. This wasn’t acknowledged at all when we arrived or in the room. The mini bar was nearly empty also. On asking at reception, we were told it was on our booking but obviously nothing had been done. The reception staff didn’t welcome us at all, they were very brusque & generally very unhelpful.
Guest Relation Manager Voula & Indie (TUI) came into their own. Between them they cooked up some amazing treats for us that made our stay memorable, I hope their respective organisations are aware & give them the Kudos they deserve. Through them we also got to know two other amazing TUI members who deserve a mention for the outstanding customer care & enthusiasm they bring to their roles, Katie & Lina.
We also must mention the hard working bar & restaurant staff, too many to remember but special mention for Costas & Lia.
Quick mention regarding this room (208)– we did ask to be moved as it wasn’t a full sea view in fact most of the view is of an Olive tree, so felt a little aggrieved with this & felt it should actually be marketed as a partial sea view. The hotel was very full though & after a few days we took our names off the move list as we couldn’t be bothered with moving.

Food & Drink

There is enough of everything to keep even the fussiest eater happy. The cocktails didn’t skimp on the ingredients, indeed some really took your head off. However, as previously stated, eating in the culinarium at lunchtime, is a nightmare because of the wasps. They are everywhere, to see so many people covering their food with serviettes & dipping underneath for a forkful is ridiculous. They are trying quite hard, that is obvious by having several potted plants around which should deter wasps & they are in a beautiful, lush green area, so are to be expected, however, because it is so bad, there should be an option of eating inside.

The views are glorious everywhere, the sunsets magical. Please pull back the net curtains in the reception & let your customers see the view whilst enjoying an afternoon or indeed evening tipple. The entertainment a bit second rate, the three tenors, well it should read one, the middle one, has the voice of an angel, the other two just shout at the audience & it is excruciatingly bad. The wonderful lady who sang & played keyboard was also perfection.
A quick mention regarding the formal long trouser rule, we were prepared as the TUI website & hotel information clearly states it is strictly enforced. However, I do not class jeans & awful jog suit bottoms etc as formal trousers. These should also have been denied access in the evening.

So all in all a wonderful stay, with a few tweaks it could be great, you have a wonderful piano in the lounge, please have someone tinkering the ivories in the evening, would be sublime.

Lastly a mention for the general manager, he keeps his eye on everyone & is always visible. Very inspirational.

If I were writing a review of the location, food, scenery, beach, sea and weather it would be an excellent review from me.
The hotel is located in a stunning location on the north east coast of Corfu. We spent most of our days on the pebble beach as it was so lovely and relaxing. The sea was warm which for late September a real nice surprise. The views are amazing. The food is lovely.
We are disappointed with the hotel and facilities and some (only a few) of the staff.
Having booked our holiday months ago we were really looking forward to it having read the previous reviews. Don’t get me wrong we have had a lovely break mainly because we spent most of it on trips or on the beach. The reason we won’t return are:
Firstly the wasp situation.
This is a problem despite what other reviews say. I am not bothered at all by wasps and I expected a few. Lunchtime in the culinarium outside was awful. Most of the time I just waved the wasps away but on some occasions it was so bad I just had to leave. There were loads of wasps all over my plate. They were in the salads at the buffet and all over at the bar. A simple screen all around the restaurant would stop them. There is no where else to eat at lunchtime so we went without on some days.
The staff.
The majority work really hard. They are pleasant and helpful. However we found some quite rude and argumentative. The lady with short blonde hair on reception needs a lesson in customer service. Very abrupt and rude. One of the waiters was miserable and rude. I tried to get his attention politely to order drinks and he gave me a look of total disgust. I heard the way he spoke to other guests too. Then again on our final night which was the Greek night we asked a waitress for a jug of water. She ignored me the first time then when I asked her again she literally huffed and did an about turn returning a few minutes later with water and an apology. The Greeks are lovely people. We got the impression that they are tired and coming to the end of a long hot season.
The long trouser rule.
This is ridiculous. We didn’t pack any long trousers thinking it would be optional and thought there would be more than one place to eat. We had very smart shorts but was not allowed to wear them. The lady mentioned previously on reception was no help and argumentative. We had to go to Corfu town the following day to buy some long trousers. The ridiculous thing was women were allowed in with shorts on and we saw people in scruffy joggers/tracksuit bottoms in the restaurant.
The entertainment.
The entertainment team did try hard to be fair. Fuega de Lunar was bizarre, 3 tenors were good, casino night and Bob the singer were good, Latin dance show was ok as was the Greek dancing. Not great but watchable.
The room.
Finally the room was tired. We upgraded to a swim up room on the ground floor which didn’t reflect the pictures on TUI’s website. Firstly the smell along the corridor from room 101 to 118 was disgusting. The bathroom was dated and mouldy in the shower.
We have come to the conclusion that the all inclusive is not for us. Having done it a few times now. Fed up with warm plastic beakers half full of beer. We would much rather give our custom to the many bars & restaurants who actually want your business desperately.
I always try to leave a fair review but this hotel is not up to standard as a TUI sensimar 4*. It’s not average but not very good either considering what we paid for our holiday. I would rate 3.5 if I could.

Stayed for 10 days in this hotel in September. Lots of positives - the views, the food - plentiful and varied, the drinks - again lots of choice and always served with a smile.

The staff were all lovely, not only welcoming and polite, but genuinely seemed interested in their guests. Particular mentions go to Angelika at breakfast and Vasilis in the Culinarium.

The only negative was the TUI rep, Indie, who not only didn't tell us about the possibility of swimming from the boat trip we booked through her, but didn't apologise when we told Chay about this. She also told us we would receive information in our room about our pick up time on our return flight - didn't happen!

Sure the wasps are a little annoying at lunch time, but nowhere near as bad as some people are making out.

The sea was beautiful and lovely to swim in with views of the mountains in the background. There were coastal walks in both directions and the nearby "Yannis Cocktail Bar" was lovely for a drink and an evening meal.
