“Not a 4 Star room”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

Room was awful, we did complain about it but didnt get moved. I know other people have been luckier so avoid 826 its damp and smells of urine. Get past that and you have a spectacular view from almost every point but not from our room, trees blocked the view. Food was very good and drinks were generally good. Mainly friendly staff, as mentioned by others lots of steps, but there are lifts to beach. Sea is wonderful for swimming and snorkelling. Surroundings were lovely, just the room spoilt it for us, so just make sure you e-mail ahead and if you get this room demand another!!!
Mama mia resturant was excellent and views stunning.

Room Tip: Not room 826!!!!!!

just back from two weeks at this hotel when we arrived they told us that they did not have the two room we booked in may one for our daughter and her two children and the other for myself and my husband.,They said that they were very busy so they gave us a flat instead which was very inconvenient in deed. we had to have our 9yr old granddaughter sleep with us and my daughter had her 5yr old son with her. .there was five of us sharing one bathroom which the wash basin was broken you could not keep the water in it ,also the air condishner was very noisey and water poured out of it during the night which woke us up animation team were rubbish and the wasps were very annoying.

Myself and my partner Clare spent 10 days at the Sunshine Vacation Club in Nissaki between the dates 01/11/2013 – 11/09/2013.
I must say the first impressions of the hotel were very good. The staff was very helpful and we were quickly taken to the main restaurant for our first meal and our bags were taken to our room.
We stayed in room 1357 in the Greek village. The walk involves many steps and I would recommend anybody with waking difficulties stays in the main Hotel. Our Room was very nice and had the best Shower I have ever seen with a total of eight nozzles. Also in our room there was a free of charge safe deposit box.
In the hotel Complex there are three restaurants. The main restaurant is very clean and there is an excellent selection of delicious food. The staff which was mostly Slovakian couldn’t do enough to help you. The restaurant has beer, wine soft drinks and tea and coffee. The Second restaurant is an Italian themed restaurant which you are allowed to go to once during your stay, it is open on alternating nights with Zorbas. The starter was very nice, however the main courses which was very nice but wasn’t very Italian. The View from Mama Mia’s was stunning as it was from the rest of the Hotel. The Greek themed restaurant “Zorbas” was excellent.
There are two swimming pools, One where they do day time entertainment which is all in French, the second is the relax pool. We spent most of days in or around the relax pool. At the relax pool there is a small bar which has soft drinks and beer, but surprising no other alcoholic drinks.
The lifts in the hotel are fine but do get very hot during the day. Because the reception is the highest point of the hotel the floor levels work backwards which confused everybody for the first couple of days.
The main bar on level 2 and the bar by the entertainment pool have a good selection of local cocktails, white, Rose, and red wine, beer tea and coffee. The main bar sells premium imported sprits which cost 5 euro’s. The barman at the pool bar Kostas has excellent “Yamos”. There is also a Disco bar which stays open until 2am offering all inclusive drinks.
We did not do any of the excursions but on the Thursday the French “Lookea” club organise a walk up one of the local mountains. It took 3 hours of what was mostly up roads and paths. A word of warning on the walk we saw 2 poisonous vipers (The walk guide is a snake expert), so I probably wouldn’t recommend walking up unguided.
Most of the night time entertainment is done at the entertainment pool. It is mostly in French but is good fun most nights and the entertainment team work very hard to please all.
The main purpose of our Holiday was to relax. We were very impressed by the staff and the cleanliness of the holiday. This was by far the best Hotel we saw in Corfu and would definitely recommend it to others.

Arriving early hours of the morning the hotel made a sound impression, the reception staff was friendly and efficient. Over looking the pool we noticed someone putting towels on the sun beds at 5 in the morning, this proved to be over keen and towards the end of the holiday sunbeds would be readily available.

The buffet restaurant was adequate with a variety of choices, not always to Michelin standards but plenty of choice for all. On the first day we were plagued by wasps in the restaurant but this wasn't repeated, but you would always find wasps in the fruit having a munch or a swim in the beans. The breakfast bacon was fatty and not appetising, but other than that everything else was okay.

There are signs that gentlemen should wear trousers for dinner, this does not seem to be enforced as there are many that are wearing shorts during the dinner session.

We had a fair bash at the cocktails but to be honest they were nothing special, the beer on tap was rather pleasant and the wine was drinkable, the cola was cheap and tasted like panda pop.

Before we went we read reviews that referred to the entertainment being poor because it was in French, I have to disagree, the entertainment wasn't poor because it was in French, it was just poor. The games around the pool could be annoying for some, but these didn't go on for too long so you you could just grin at the animation team and pretend to read your book or be asleep and they would leave you alone. If you're going for the entertainment then this is not the hotel for you, if you're going for a relaxing holiday, then it will be fine.

The hotel rooms were okay, we had 3 rooms, one had Icelandic air conditioning, one worked okay and one didn't work, to be fair we didn't complain about the non working one, so cannot fault the hotel for this, but some areas of the hotel are starting to look tired especially in the corridors. The consensus of some guests we spoke to is that the rooms in the main hotel are much better than in the bungalows.

The location of the hotel is interesting in that it is built into the side of the cliff, with 2 pools and a few steps down to the beach area. If you have difficulty in walking this could be a problem or people with young toddlers, however, for the majority it should be fine. There are lifts down to the beach and pool areas if you wish, but the doors do not have sensors to stop them from shutting on you.

If you are looking to see the sites of Corfu, then this hotel is somewhat off the beaten track, there are water activities and boats that you take to Corsica town and around the island from the beach if you wish. There is a path on the right of the private beach to some taverns and scuba diving activities if you wish.

If you are on a tight budget then this hotel should surpass your expectations, if you are looking for a luxurious hotel and you have high standards then it may disappoint.

The wife and the mother-in-law were stung by wasps so not such as bad place after all.

Room Tip: We did not experience the bungalows but the main hotel rooms are more than adequate.

Just back from a week at this hotel and we would happily return in the future.
Check in was quick and our bags were taken down to our bungalow in the Greek village section of the hotel.
Our room was clean and tidy and all though the bedroom was slightly dated the bathroom was new. Rooms were cleaned daily. The Greek village is a good walk to the main hotel complex and about a 10 min walk to the beach. The hotel is basically situated on a hill side so lots of steps are involved. Personally we didn't mind the walking but if you are not good with steps I'd ask for a room in the main hotel building. The hotel does have lifts but the are small, slow and broke down once or twice during our stay. Was quicker to use the steps.
The food choice and quality was excellent. The staff in the restaurant worked hard. I personally don't know how anyone could complain about the food in this hotel. The Italian restaurant is good and Greek restaurant was ok. Nice to have waiter service but the food in the Greek restaurant is basically the same as in the main restaurant just presented better.
We spent most of our time on the beach and never had a problem getting sunbeds. The two pools are clean and again no problem getting beds unless you want a prime location and then you would maybe have to get up early to bag a bed. I did notice people putting towels down at 11.30pm one evening but still no problems getting one in the morning. The wasps are a pain but if you ignore them they don't bother you that much.
The drinks were good and the beer is drinkable. I've been to other all inclusive hotels were the drinks quality was very poor but again no problems here.
Yes the entertainment is in French..... it's set up for the French..... that's what all the reviews say so I don't know why you would be so shocked by this? The hotel/food must be good if the French will grace it's steps! Everybody still speaks English its's just 80% of the hotel's guest are French so why would the entertainment be in English? If you want English 24/7 I'd go to Cornwall. This is Greece. Its a foreign country!
Anyway we had a great week relaxing by the beach and we will return!

Room Tip: If you can get a room on floor 8 of the main hotel most of the rooms had private access to the relax...

our stay in this hotel in the bungalow from 21aug-1sep 2013 was disappointing, after reading brilliant reviews about the hotel we discovered it completely different. It was very French orientated the animation team would only speak in French, they would not approach you and ask you to join the activity, I felt the English speakers and other guest apart from French were left behind. Our 10 year daughter was bored after few days, it was not nice to see animation team members going around greeting and hugging only French guests.
Few times I had noticed hotel management and staff arguing about food or service in front of the guest which in my opinion very inappropriate.
Bar and reception staff was very rude, they would not smile to you, the words like see you again or thank you for staying with us does not really exist in that place.
The toilets were fitly also the activity pool, thing floating in it and the smell was coming.
Apart from location, private beach and beautiful nature I do not see this hotel as 4 star.

Room Tip: if choosing bungalow ask for the one that is closer to the hotel's main building, there are a lo...

We had a wonderful week at this hotel the last week of August. Totally disagree with last review and found our first choice representative professional and informative!

We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a suite with a swim up room and they are stunning and beautifully decorated. The pool they went in to was the relaxing pool and was just that! We never went to the activity pool as even if the entertainment was in English its just not our 'thing' . Beach was stunning, turquoise and crystal clear waters and good choice of water sports available. Each day boats come to the jetty and takes people to corfu town (beautiful Venician city ) and the pretty resort of kassiopi.

Food was good with huge choice and recommend the Italian restaurant too. We also ate out a couple of times in the local tavernas as an alternative, Vitamins restaurant is approx 5 min walk away and again breath taking views.

Evening entertainment was in French but no where near the lovely terrace where we sat during the evenings. The drinks were great and good choice, there are wasps, but only a bit of a pain at the greek taverna by main pool at lunch time.

For days out do Theo cruise barbecue, brilliant fun for families and young, corfu town is a must, and get bus or boat to kassiopi as lovely.

Been to 9 Greek Islands and corfu is far the most beautiful, Samos close second!

Definitely recommend this hotel and there were probably 30 percent British guests so not all french!
