This was our second visit to Kaminia Villa's - the first was in 2013 and had been the perfect week away with the new addition to our family and we were hoping to replicate that experience again with a second addition in tow. We weren't disappointed...
The villa is located in a peaceful location but in handy reach of all local amenities by car. The drive from the airport is approximately 15 minutes and an easy route. A few minutes drive in either direction from the villa will take you to lovely relaxing beaches e.g. Keri or Laganas if you fancy something more lively - there is also an array of different taverna's. We drove up to the view from keri Lighthouse - simply stunning - and getting around the island is simple. There is a LIDL supermarket 10 minutes away from the villa which is open 7 days a week, although we preferred the greek supermarket that was opposite - it has a better range and is also better value.
We recommend taking up the spring water available through Sai - the villa owner. Not only does it cut down on plastic waste, but it was the best tasting water we could wish for and was a really convenient way of replenishing stocks. Sai also whisks away the empty glass bottles along with any other recycling and household waste.
The villa is clean, tidy and very well appointed. All those little extra's that you'd want for a 'home-from-home' are there from kitchen utensils to cool bags and parasols for the beach. There were plenty of towels and Sai kindly supplied a highchair and cotbed with mosquito net for the baby.
The pool is glorious - clean and well maintained with shady areas and plenty of sun beds. It's also possible to stroll around or laze and sunbathe in the gardens - plus there's a large bbq area available.
Sai was the perfect host. He is always available with a handy tip and local info when need be but also leaves you in peace to enjoy your break.
We've never visited ANYWHERE twice - we always feel life's too short. However, this is a little corner of paradise and we're so glad we broke with tradition and had the most relaxing and enjoyable family holiday again.
Thanks once again to Sai and Kaminia Villa's :)
I cannot recommend Sai and Kaminia Villas highly enough. The villa was clean and very well equipped - there were even bags for our shopping and a cool bag with ice blocks for our picnics - small touches which made a big difference. The kitchen had everything you needed, the beds were comfortable and the spot was peaceful and relaxing. Lovely pool which Sai cleaned every day. Sai was very helpful and arranged transport to and from the airport for us. We had a lovely holiday on the beautiful island of Zakynthos. Thank you Sai!
Excellent well equipped acoommodation, lovely garden and a beautiful pool. Very kind, considerate and helpful host. Sai goes out of his way to ensure you enjoy your stay and nothing is too much trouble. Perfect, restful holiday. Thank you so much, particularly for the celebration cake
It is very difficult to add anything new that hasn't been said in previous reviews. The owner Sai deserves a special mention - he is the perfect host, there when you want but no way intrusive. Lovely quite setting and fully equipped villa. Cannot fault it.
Kaminia Villas is about a 20 minute drive from the airport / zakynthos town and about 5 minutes away from keri caves / keri beach. Communication with Sai the owner prior to arrival was faultless, we had full instructions on how to find the villa and he picked up some groceries for us for when we arrived. Spotlessly clean villa, lovely pool and we had a lovely holiday. Its a very relaxing environment. There's another villa (Villa Kathleen) next door owned by an Irish lady (presumably Kathleen!) and if you're a larger party looking for somewhere to stay its possible to arrange the other Villa through Sai. As a host Sai was exceptional - unobtrusive yet attentive where required. He arranged a boat for us at Keri and gave advice on restaurants (there's one locally that will come and pick you up and drop you back which was most welcome on the first night and good food to boot), and talked through places to visit. He also sources spring water for you if required and has a refreshingly proactive approach to the environment (recycling, solar panels etc). Also, and this was a nice touch, having seen that the young boy in the next villa was proving attractive to mosquitos, he went out and bought us all nets for the beds.
We returned for visit number 5 such a pleasure to see how the villas have settled into the Zakynthos landscape. Sai manages this so well despite all the changes that happen in the Greek islands. As always Sai manages to be there when you want him and invisible when you want peace. Villas are as good as ever, this is truly a place that is magical and every time it welcomes you back.
Sai is the perfect host, bringing fresh fruit that is in season from his trees. Also spring water each day. He has personal knowledge of almost all the restaurants on the island and how to get to them.
The accommodation is very clean and well maintained with every utensil one is likely to require, to self cater. There is a good size swimming pool for the use of the two Villas, . This is cleaned every day by Sai and is a safe depth for a young family or those who want to do lengths, for exercise.
The area around the facility is ideal and safe for walks anytime of the day, surrounded by Olive Groves and truly beautiful scenery. The sea is only a short walk away or three minutes in the car.
We spent a morning out on a boat, the shoreline around is stunning. I thought my days of diving off boats was over, but the water is so warm and crystal clear, it was irresistible. Then to see Turtles popping their heads out the water and swimming alongside the boat, made it an experience not to be missed.
Anyone who rides a bike, should take it with you or hire one there. Sai is a keen and classy cyclist. We went out together every day on flat and hilly rides, he knows every road on the island. Traffic is little and no problem.
It is hard to recommend Kaminia Villas and Zakynthos more than hopefully I just have.
