We are a couple age 40 and 43 travelling with parents who are in their 70's. The eagles nest is outstandingly clean, rooms are spacious with the most amazing views.
It was so peaceful there you could sleep at any time of the day and night.
Marina is amazing and can't do enough for you. She was making Greek coffee for my husband and dad in the mornings, and leaving fruit in your room, even gave guests gifts when they were leaving, she is just lovely.
The pool is lovely but over run with wasps on our stay, as a lot of places were, we went out every day so only used it once.
I would definitely recommend a car to stay here, we like walking, but the hills here aren't enjoyable in the heat. Thankfully we had a car so could experience lots of tavernas.
All in all fab, but without a car we wouldn't have enjoyed it as much.

we stayed here end of September and had a truly wonderful time the views from apartment were stunning and the location perfect although a car hire booked before you arrive is a definite bonus to explore this beautiful island .Marina is the most friendliest and attentive host we've ever met makes you feel very welcome and always willing to help or give advice , and sometimes leaving home cooked goodies and treats for you , the apartments' although basic are very clean and quite spacious a kettle and travel iron is advised as cooking facilities are basic however there are ample restaurants to suit all at very reasonable prices and very friendly ,we would most certainly return in the future

Room Tip: we stayed on the first floor but think the top floor would be better when busy as noise from above w...

With fantastic views of the sea and coastline from the balcony and dramatic mountainous landscape behind, Eagles Nest has the best views we have ever experienced. The rooms are clean and spacious with enough facilities to make your stay comfortable. A double ring cooker and extractor and plates and utensils mean you can make a nice breakfast or meal if required. The Air con was especially good and we needed it, it was hot.
We ate out at the local Taverna's, and found Liza's Grill and the Trifilli Tavern to be especially good, with a good choice of menu. Both are situated close by, but be aware they don't call it Eagles Nest for nothing, this area is very hilly. There are also a couple of supermarkets within a 15 minute walk, we didn't hire a car this time and managed the walking fine.
Try the local English owned bar opposite Liza's Grill for fantastic views and a relaxing coffee sat with the locals.
Marina our host was wonderful and she is so passionate about her lovely place. Nothing is too much trouble for Marina and she is very generous with her home grown vegetables, and her lovely cooking.
Eagles nest has a good size pool and beautiful surrounding gardens maintained to a very high standard by Marina and her family.
This is a small piece of paradise one would return to for a lovely relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: The views from the top rooms are fantastic, however if you chose the middle floor you would have a b...

Everything is perfect at the eagles nest , Marina makes sure you enjoy your time here, nothing is too much trouble. Marina was waiting for us when we arrived and made us feel relaxed after a long journey, there was some cold drinks in the fridge and I forgot to pack an iron but that wasn't a problem as marina lent us one for the holiday, The rooms are clean with a nice bathroom and a good shower, basic utensills provided but enough for most people , we eat our every evening so no problem there, marina gave us so spicey olive that she produced herself and they were very good. There are grapes and limes in the garden that you can help yourself too. Wasps were about when we stayed but they don't sting, and they vanish in the evening, balcony is sea facing and swiming pool is a good size for the amount of people who stay, most days it was empty. For the price Marina charges the place is a steal, would recommend a hire car to view the island as driving in kef is easy.

This was our first time to Kefalonia, and we are sure that we will come again! Marina is extraordinary dedicated and most pleasant host ever! She welcomed us with great service and love and as no one before. We were really pleased to stay at her place because it is very nice, tidy, clean and well maintained. Just to mention, it is not commercialized with lots of hotels and pubs, but in our opinion that is the main beauty and advantage of Lourdas and the Kefalonia as well. Great pool, lots of grass and plants everywhere. Every recommendation goes to Eagle`s nest and to Marina, and beautiful nature which surrounds it. This is an island with a mountain beautiful landscapes, beauty of nature and the best beaches we've ever seen. Better than Zakynthos ;)

Recently returned from our holiday and thought we would add to the growing positive reviews of this lovely little complex.

All the rooms have sea views and the bedroom/living area is very spacious. Provided with basic utensils for self catering although would have been useful to have a kettle and toaster although did not detract from the quality of the accommodation.

Marina is a gracious host and leaves out fruit and vegetables which guests can help themselves to. I can recommend the tomatoes which were delicious. One day she brought us Greek coffee and lemon mousse - which was much appreciated.

Wifi was a problem and you need to sit outside Marina's room on the ground floor to get access so if you can't live without your tablet then you would need to go to nearby bars/cafes to get online.

Be prepared to walk up and down the hill to get to bars/restaurants/beach. A car is a must have. Apparently used to be a bus that took people up and down the hill but was taken off. Our neighbour was getting a taxi from the beach which cost her around 6 euros if you don't want the long walk.

Supermarkets were expensive locally and if you have a car you should be able to go to Lidl which is about half an hour away on the way to Argostoli. Make sure you include an early morning trip to the Port in Argostoli to see the turtles swim around the fishing boats as they display their catch. If you get there for around 8 to 8.30 as the boats are coming in you should not miss this. Argostoli also has a pleasant pedestrianized shopping area which we spend a morning exploring the shops, sitting in a cafe watching the world go by (highly recommended).

Make sure you go to Myrtos Beach and Anti Sami/os Beach where scenes for Captain Correlli's Mandolin were filmed. Also try and visit Assos and Fiskardo both places worth a trip out. We also hired a boat at Agia Efimia for the day and sailed up and down the coast where the beaches were only accessible by boat. It was an amazing day out.

Room Tip: All rooms sea views.
