“Hotel Delfino Blu Corfu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012

We landed in Corfu around 11 o'clock on a Sunday morning and we were quickly through customs and picked up our bags to be met by the driver who had been arranged with the Hotel.
We were made to feel very welcome the second we arrived and the friendly staff brought drinks fruit and ice cream for us. Within 10 minutes the children were in the fantastic swimming pool while my wife and I relaxed on the magnificent terrace with complementary drinks.
We were very impressed by the excellent standard of the family suite, which had 2 bedrooms, and a living room, which included a small kitchen area with a fridge. Not that we did any cooking due to the wonderful breakfast and evening meals.
On the first evening we sat down to dinner looking out over the Mediterranean and a picture postcard sunset. The setting really is beautiful. The staff very attentive and made every effort to make us welcome and well looked after.
The food was very good with a wide choice of dishes for the half board option. The chef was happy to make changes to accommodate children who can be a bit fussy over their food.
Nothing seemed to be to much trouble.
The Hotel is situated right on the beach, which is reached by steps from the pool terrace. The beach itself was designed by mother nature to be child friendly in a wide clear bay, with shallow water for quite a long way out. The beach was well cared for and clean, and a lovely touch was a bottle of cold water in an ice bucket delivered to every pair of deck chairs.
Costas, the owner, really pays attention to detail and was on hand to make sure everything went smoothly.
We could not fault the service or cleanliness.
The Hotel is child friendly and ours quickly made close friends with several other children.
We had very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

We have travelled to many great places and hotels over the years. On arrival my husband and I both said that it was just like being on the island of St Lucia in the Caribbean, except the sand in San Stefano is darker and of course we were in Greece.
The location of the hotel was fantastic, the bay, the village, the views not forgetting the sunsets, in fact most of this part of Corfu was lovely.
Delfino Blu ticked every box for us, all the reviews point out the great things about this hotel, just believe them. If you like a small, quiet and friendly hotel, in a great location right on the beach, no sun bed issues like many hotels, amazing views, great food and exceptional service then this is the place to stay. There is no entertainment in the hotel which suited us fine because there were some nice
bars in the small village with various things going on if you wanted that but sometimes sitting around the hotel bar was enjoyable and Tomas the barman was very entertaining plus he could make a great cocktail. The whole holiday was just so effortless and by the end of the week we were all totally chilled out. Breakfast every morning was such a great start to the day, sitting on the terrace drinking a great cup of coffee looking at the views, in fact we have never spent so much time at breakfast, but it was all so unhurried and enjoyable. A gem of a place.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room with a terrace but as the hotel is elevated we still had lovely views plu...

Back again to the Delfino Blu Boutique Hotel, I love this place. We arrived on Thursday, had an awesome late lunch by the pool, relaxed on the beach watched the perfect sunset. This place ranks right up there with Santorini when it comes to sunsets, if not better. The reason I say this is because I prefer being on the beach watching the sunset, drinking one of the specialty cocktail that they make at the Delfino beach bar then seating on a rock with the herds of people feeling like you are in Niagara Falls. If you like to relax in a low key chill environment where the music from the speakers doesn’t drive you crazy and you like to watch the perfect sunset with freshly made drinks from the beach bar then this is the place especially if you are into understated luxury and value for your money. Also you don’t have to go far for dinner, the restaurant at the Delfino Blu is Top Notch. The food is authentic homemade Greek food made with the freshest ingredients; where some other places in the area you can taste the freezer burns on the food. The restaurant does get busy so I would recommenced to call a head if you are not staying at the hotel or stop by there in the afternoon have a drink at the pool or the beach bar and talk to Kosta the owner to make your reservation for dinner. It goes without saying that the service from the staff was exceptional, the property is beautiful and spotless, the location is perfect for my taste, it’s on the beach, far away from the loud noise, perfect for relaxing.

This was our third summer vacation at Delfino Blu. The first year we booked for one week, and my wife and I looked at each other at the end our our stay and said, "We need another week". After our second summer, we looked at each other and said, "We need another week." This year, after three weeks, we looked at each other.... you get the pattern. We have stayed at Delfino Blu in various rooms, including the standard room, honeymoon suite and the junior suite, each time with our little boy, who started going to Deflino when we did and is now four years old. The rooms are all beautiful, well maintained and immaculate. We have stayed in hotels all over the world, but have never felt the way we do about Delfino Blu. Kostas and Zoe have created a smooth and well run operation where your every need is taken care -- we now feel almost like family each time we return and are welcomed with such genuine warmth. With this wonderful hospitality and service, combined with the location on the Ionian Sea, this is the one place I have found where I can unplug and feel truly relaxed. Everything about this place is calm and peaceful. No rush, no deadlines, just peace and relaxation, good food, excellent Greek wines and a fabulous staff. Sitting on the outdoor terrace having dinner as the sun sets behind the distant islands is a nightly experience to remember. And our little boy, who has been practically adopted by Kostas and the staff, just loves the beach and the calm, lake-like conditions of the warm Ionian Sea -- great for swimming and endless days of building sand castles -- not to mention having his favorite cheeseburger and vanilla milkshake at Delfino's beach cafe every day! The one big exertion during our stay was renting a small boat at the nearby harbor and motoring along the coast, stopping at an isolated white sand beach to anchor the boat for a picnic on the beach and snorkeling in the little bay -- I highly recommend this activity. We have rented a car and driven around the island in previous stays, but there is really no reason to leave Agios Stefanos. After spending a total of more than 6 weeks over 3 years at Delfino Blu, I have absolutely no hesitation about recommending this hotel to families and couples looking for a very special vacation.

Room Tip: With one or two young children, the junior suite works quite well.

We stayed at Delfino Blu a year ago and we loved the place and people there so much that this year we decided to do it again. Deep in our hearts we were afraid that second time around it wouldn't be as nice as we remember it. Our fears were groundless! The minute we walked in and were greeted as old friends coming back - we felt like ones! Now we know - we can come back to Delfino Blu as many times as we want - it always will be warm and charming!

I have had many holidays and been to some lovely hotels however this is the first time I have been away and not wanted to come home......this hotel was fantastic!! All the reviews say the same things, and I can only re-iterate them. Kostas runs a fabulous place and has lovely, hardworking, everpleasing staff. All the staff have time to joke, or exchange pleasantries with every guest. Tomas at the pool bar was a great host - keeping his customers happy with never ending glasses, tales of his life and lots of local information to share. Another of his great skills was his cocktail skills, particularly the 'Mojito's' - the best I have ever tasted and with mint from 'Tomas's allotment' !!!!
The other thing I really liked was all the attention to detail - the maid changing the wet bath mats in the evening and leaving sweets, the departure gift, the email once you got home...little touches make it so special and believe me nothing was too much trouble for anyone.
If you are thinking of visiting - get in quick, as I believe nearly every guest thinks about going back once they have stayed here. It was my 50th birthday while we were there and the staff had arranged flowers, champagne and a cake on behalf of my husband which were all waiting in our suite - the honeymoon suite at that. We took my teenage daughter and her friend who loved the hotel and despite it being a quiet and relaxing holiday are keen to go back. San Stefanos is quiet but everyone in the village is friendly and there was quite a lot of entertainment going on if that is what you are after. Shop staff were always pleasant and helpful partculary the 2 lovely girls in the jewellery/handbag shop.
I could go on and on and on ........
So the long and short is we are hoping to go back in June and maybe we will try to venture out and about if we can muster up the energy and lure ourselves away from the gorgeous pool and beach......
Thank you Kostas and each of your lovely team - we hope to see you soon.

Room Tip: Go for the sea view - the sunsets are fantastic - I thought better than Santorini

I won't repeat what so many of the reviews here have already said. Suffice to say they are right. The staff, the setting, the views are all amazing. I have given a couple of 5 star reviews before in the past but the week we spent here makes me think tripadvisor need a 6 star rating. Everything about the week my wife and I enjoyed was amazing and this was largely due to the Delfino Blu hotel. The location of the hotel doesn't make it easy to visit the rest of the island but the hotel facilities and the town of Agios Stefanos have more than enough to keep you entertained and relaxed on your holiday. The food is lovely, tasty and thoughtfully prepared. We went half board and were initially daunted by their 5 course meal but the portions were reasonable and not too big which made the 5 courses manageable. I cannot recommend the Delfino Blu highly enough and we can't wait to return.
