“Fantastic place to stay”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

Ive just come back from a week stay in these apartments. First of all they are studio apartments so all the complaints about toilet roll you do need to by your own your do have some when you arrive but then you need to buy your own.
great pool and bar studio was adequate for mine and my husbands needs i've did not hear anyone complain about there apartments.
Yanis is the evening night time bar man and he was fantastic in helping to make our holiday great. he was helpful polite and friendly. Thank you Yanis. The day staff we did not see a lot as we were out and about around this amazingly gorgeous ireland but on arrival he was warm and friendly. the housekeeper came daily to empty bind make beds and fresh towels. One week was just not long enough. Would highly recommend these studio apartments. Big thank you to Yanis .

Great pool, fabulous staff, lovely location. I loved staying here. The apartment had a lovely, private, peaceful location. The path had beautiful big flowers and grapes are growing in big bunches. We fed a little cat which welcomed us daily, which is part of coming to Greece. The pool has sunshine all day and has brilliant views of the mountains.

We stayed for a week at this place. We got a studio in the older building which isnt as aesthetic as the newer ones but we loved it. We were on the last appartment which meant it was very private with a tiny seaview and a lovely view inland. The cleaner came everyday to collect rubbish or to clean up and was very friendly. The pool is ideal for little kids with more than half being shallow enough for kids to stand, it also provides incredable views of the mountains. The bar provides great service, the staff are very friendly. Overall this is a fab place to stay, it is on a hill but if you dont mind a little walk or have a quad or car it is worth it.

When we arrived at the Kapetanios apts we were met by Spiros one of the owners we didn't even need to go into reception as he had the keys ready for us and took the cases for us up to the room. It was basic but very clean, had a fridge freezer toaster kettle and microwave with two rings on top. The shower does leak a lot but that's normal in Greece so be prepared for that! When we ran out of the two loo rolls that was there I asked for another at reception but was told to buy my own! Now the beach, it was perfect very clean and crystal clear sea that you can walk out very far and will not get deep, the sunbeds on the beach were 7.50 euros a day which I thought was good as we spent all day there and the nice old man who looks after them gave us two nectarines every day! If you go on a sunday get there early as its busy with locals on there day off. The beach bar Havannah was good and decent prices. The transfer is not as long as the brochure says its more like 1.5 hours. Two restaurants are a must, Zorbas and The little prince they both have traditional Greek dancing every night about 9pm

Room Tip: The seven rooms up on the hill are good as they are quieter and away from the evening entertainment...

When we first read the reviews on ‘Trip Advisor’ it was difficult to believe the ‘Kapetanios Apartments’ could be so good. I am happy to say, the good reviews are 100% correct. We've just enjoyed 2 weeks in the sun, possibly one of our best holidays, definitely our best holiday in Greece! We are a family of four with 7yr boy & 4yr girl, travelling end July into early August.

The pool area is spotless and perfect for all ages with lots of sunbeds available through the day.

The staff are fantastic – Spiros & Yannis did everything possible to make our stay perfect - “Parakalo”.

The pool food/drinks menu is varied and great. Yannis cocktails are recommended!

Our room was basic but spotlessly clean and the bathroom was more of a wet room, however consistent with other Greek apartments we’ve stayed in.

The views from the pool are amazing, especially as the sun sets.

The hill is a little steep but good to help digestion after a great meal.

Agios Stefanos could not be better, with a beautiful clean & safe beach. Also a good selection of restaurants serving delicious food. Overall not too busy or commercial with charming people throughout the resort.

It was a pleasure spending the days and evenings round the pool, offering a very friendly family feel. Many guests return year after year, some already booking or planning to book for 2014.

In summary, great resort, great weather, great food, great people, great staff, great pool, great accommodation and great guests – everything we needed to make for a fantastic holiday!

we stayed at the kapetanios apartments for 2 weeks from the 20th july, the apartments are basic but cleaned to a high standard. Spiros works during the day and yannis in the evening , they were both helpfull, friendly and were good to talk to, yannis coctails are amazing !
the views are spectacular, the hill could be a problem for those with walking diffucultes but it certainly keeps you fit ! san stefanos is a quiet resort woth a good selection of restaurants and bars , peoiple are very friendly, plen ty of trips available if you wish to do so,
we were unfortunate to leave our room at midday with a 1am airport pickup! there wasnt anywhere fee to shower as they were fully booked ,which is down to the tour operators pushing peoiple through, we were fortunate enough to meet lovely people who offered us use of their rooms to shower and change. alot of the guests at the kapatenios come back year after year, were hoping to do the same! . we were a family of 4, with 2 teenagers

I write very honest reviews on tripadvisor and felt these apartments needed a review. Me and my family stopped here for 7 nights (which was more like 6 nights due to late flights) and on the whole the place is nice.

The main reason I have rated these apartments down is because the amount of times we had to ask for the simplest of things...for example we asked (politely) the day time staff around 3 times for extra pillows (which are rock solid!) We eventually gave up.
The Thomas Cook staff also informed us that if you stood a chance of getting a late check out roon, ask the first day. So we did, everyday infact. We got the reply "i will check for you" that never happened. We decided to ask the night staff at the bar on the day before we left (I cant remember the name, but he is so friendly and happy to help, if you need anything done ask him!)
Unfortunately he informed us there were no rooms left...and its definately not the case of us not asking early enough, we had no shower or access to a room between 12 midday and 1:15 in the morning, not even a one hour room.
on another occasion we asked for the daytime bar man to deal with our safe which had a problem. "I'll be there in 10 minutes" 1 hour later he didnt show and had infact, gone off shift.
I really want to exaggerate on this point, it was only the daytime bar staff, the man on the nightshift was so happy, helpful and he was very good at making people welcome.

The area was very clean, rooms, pool, everything. The only things I would mention are the showers, we stopped in ap 22, and the shower soaked the floor! I would recommend buying toilet paper when you arrive as the maid does not provide it like in most places.

The apartments are about 10 minutes walk down a steepish hill to the main part of town, there are plenty of places to eat, but agios stefanos lacks in shops other than supermarkets. I wouldnt recommend to anyone who has trouble walking etc, the roads/paths are uneven as well as the steep hill. On the bright side, all the food in town was nicely priced and delicious.

On the whole I was happy with my stay, its perfect for a relaxing holiday, but theres not alot in surrounding areas. The apartments and clean and do the job. The pool and surrounding areas are also very clean, you'll need to get out early to get a sunlounger in the sun as most of them are shaded.
I just wanted to let people know that if you need help, definately ask the night bar staff, that's the only way you will get it done. This is mainly why I would not visit these apartments again, I know many people on here said they would, but this is possibly because staff seemed to only make the effort with certain people.
