Just returned from a fab week at the Kapetanios. We had a studio apartment which was very spacious and extremely clean - as was the whole apartment block and pool area. Yannis and Dominic could not have been more welcoming and would do anything for you. The apartments are on a hill so hiring a quad bike at €20 per day is well worth it and also allows you to explore the island as the roads are quite quiet. Local area had plenty of bars and restaurants to keep you entertained. We would highly reccomend the chinese restaurant particularly and there are excellent tribute acts on at the Condor also. The beach in resort is by far the best on the north of the island. Would definitely go back to this resort again.

Room Tip: Sea view is a must.

Just returned from 11 most enjoyable nights at Kapetanios Apts, Our accomidation was a studio apartment, very comfortable and clean also spacious, Dominic and Yanis who ran the bar area day and night were extremly friendly and made all our times around the pool enjoyable, two rearly nice blokes, the food at Kapetanios is exceptionally good and very reasonably priced.
The hill down to the main strip and beach could be a problem to people who are less mobile but we did not find it to bad.
Days spent around the pool were extremly relaxed.
We look forward to returning next year.

We stayed here on our 2nd week of our holiday (our 1st week in Sidari 20 min away)
Tassos who owns the hotel also owns a small taxi company, and we paid 90e one way for our 50 minute airport transfer for our party of 10, this is much easier than the 2 hr bus transfer, you can find his email by going to corfuselections website.

We flew Easyjet from Luton at £120.00 each rtn including luggage.
We paid £100.00 each for a week for our accomodation through Lesley at corfuselections.

Yani & Dominic who run the bar between them 7 days a week are possibly the best bar staff ive known in Greece (as youd see from my other reviews, we have been Greece many times).
And the food is 2nd to non, so a big hand to the girls in the kitchen.

Our room was at Andys Apts, just a 2 min walk from Kapetanios, with the most amazing views of the resort, and a sunset to die for. The only downfall is the walk to/from the resort centre and the beach, for myself it wasnt a problem, but for others in my party it was a struggle, its approx 20 mins partially steep in places, but worth the sweat out for the views.

San Stefanos is the most excellent resort, and enough to do at night, with some very good Greek tavernas (our favourite being 2 stars near the t-junction)

I would also say in all my Greek travels it has the friendliest locals ive ever known in the whole of the country.

We will certainly be back :)

Room Tip: We stayed at Andy Apts, just a two min walk from Kapetanios, booked through corfuselections

We have just returned from a two week stay at the Kapetanios and can thoroughly recommend. Accommodation is superb; spotlessly clean, well decorated, and well equipped for self catering. We had a two bedroomapartment which was really spacious, had a double balcony and a lovely bathroom with bath. All the staff are really friendly and helpful from bar staff to our cleaner who was lovely. The only small gripe we had was that the beds were a bit uncomfortable and could do with better mattresses. Yes you do have to climb cardiac hill but if you take your time its manageable. This is our 6th time in San Stef but our first at the Kapetanios, I would definately recommend. The food was superb, drinks reasonably priced, pool area lovely,-could not have asked for more.

Room Tip: We got a two bedroom apartment deal with Thomas Cook-apartment 16, could not fault it!

We stayed at The Kapetanios Apts in Agios (San) Stefanos in June 2012. We booked flights seperately and apartments directly through their website. Dealing with Lesley via email to book the apts was very nice. She was helpful, friendly and recommended a car hire company for us too - Corfu Explore Car Hire - who were also very helpful and had the most reasonable hire price. Valantis is the guy to speak to re car hire! Very nice chap too.
The apartments are very clean, very well maintained - the cleaner did a great job every day and changed towels 3 times in a week and bedsheets twice, which is much better than other places we've stayed at in Greece! The kitchen and bedroom facilities were fine and basic, as you'd expect. The only negative I have is the mattresses.... they really were very hard and lumpy and not comfortable to sleep on at all! I was very happy to return to my bed by the end of the week.
Apart from that, the apartments are very nice. Pool is great. My sons, 11 and 3 both loved the pool and baby pool.

It was very quiet in San Stefanos and around the pool at the apartments - I imagine because we went in June, rather than during school holidays??? So there was a slight lack of atmosphere around the resort and other resorts we visiting on our holiday - but that may have been due to the time of year or perhaps the recession!?!

Yani who runs the bar during the evenings is lovely. Really friendly and will do anything to make your stay pleasant. He's a great laugh to chat to as well. (Makes lovely cocktails too!).
The food at the Kapetanios was pretty good but there are better restaurants in the town.
Zorbas was fantastic. Loved the food!! My sons loved the food too, and my 3 yr old took a great liking to the waiters. They do Greek dancing every night at Zorbas which is good fun - as do The Little Prince. This was also very good for food, atmosphere and dancing! We heard that The Olympic was worth a visit for food too but never got time to go there.

San Stefanos is a nice small resort, shops nice, good selection of tavernas/restaurants. Not our favourite place in Corfu, but we were happy there as our base. The beach was very sandy and the sea was mostly good, apart from when it was windy. The wind made the waves a little rough and brought seaweed in to the shore. The shore doesn't shelve at all, so very child friendly. My kids loved the sea there and the waves for jumping in! You can't really swim at San Stefanos, but you can enjoy the waves!

As we hired a car, we travelled round the island quite a bit. Great places to visit are:
Kalami - lovely beach, pebbly but beautiful views, GORGEOUS sea, great for swimming for adults and children. Rock climbing & rock pools too. Also good tavernas.
Kalamaki - great beach for kids, very toddler friendly sea. Excellent taverna too.
Agios GORDIS (Not to be confused with Agios Georgios North or South) - This beach is south of Glyfada. It's mostly sandy, sea has some fun waves and you can walk out without too much shelving. Extremely pretty village. Gorgeous shops and tavernas. Full of character and very very quaint. We want to stay there next time!
Paleokastritsa - very pretty, scenic beach and lovely sea to swim in. Lots of caves to visit, hire a pedalo!
Acharavi - excellent shopping, atmosphere (buzzing town) and tavernas. Lovely food in the Acharavi Park taverna. Great cocktails in the Mythos Bar. LOVELY guy who runs it called Vigelis. He's great, very funny and makes the best cocktails. My partner first visited Acharavi in 1998 and enjoyed drinking at Vigelis's Mythos bar. We have since returned to see him every few years! :-)

I hope this review helps anyone thinking of visiting the apartments, San Stefanos and Corfu in general! The apartments were good value for the price which was important to us when booking a holiday this year.

I would recommend it for families with small children and anyone looking for a peaceful holiday, with a nice sandy beach, and who like waves.
Corfu has many great places to visit, so I do recommend hiring a car and trying out various beaches and resorts.

Room Tip: We had a great view, we were in a 2 room apartment with a balcony.
