“Fun escape - great tents, great facilities, great people!”
Reviewed April 10, 2018 for a stay in February 2018

My husband and I had the best time at Kichaka. We took our 2 year old daughter and staying in the Safari tent. A friend and her child also joined us next door. It was such fun! The tents really are kitted out well and the showers were really nice.
It's the ideal place to go with friends for a secluded trip where you cook for yourselves, chill out by the pool and relax together.
The hosts were just lovely and we really enjoyed their company aswell! I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience at Kichaka. It was great hosting you all, and we are thrilled you had such a good time. It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance, and to learn more about the good work that you all do at Shofco

To begin, the structure and amenities Trish and Peter have build into this camp are impeccable. Everything from the tents to the bathrooms and kitchen area are clean and tailored to absolute comfort. The location is perfectly secluded and the only sounds you will hear at night are the chirps of the surrounding forest, a far off barking dog or a howling hyena. If you are not overwhelmed by the sunrise in the morning you will be by the stars at night (Which look the best from the open air loo, in my opinion). However, more than just the bones, Peter and Trish have created a space that is warm and welcoming. Their love for Kenya, its land, people and animals, flows through the camp and it is palpable. It is a beautiful camp hosted by even more beautiful people and I will definitely be there again.

“Kichaka Glamping with the Stars!”
Reviewed April 4, 2018 for a stay in February 2018

Kichaka Glamping is a one-of-a-kind, upscale outdoor camping experience with the perfect setting to create memories to last a lifetime. Hosts Peter and Trish have created a truly beautiful, eco-friendly property with everything needed for a wonderful retreat-like adventure! The property even includes a pool for afternoon cooling after a scenic hike around the property, or climb up the nearby hill with incredible views. The tents are spacious and include an extremely comfortable bed with soft linens for a dreamy night's sleep....much better than some 5 star hotels I have stayed in! The outdoor shower/washroom area is tastefully appointed with an African theme ( rock walls, antler horn towel holders, hot running water and a Western style toilet!) I can honestly say I have never had such a memorable shower in the midst of nature complete with the sounds of chirping birds and wildlife! We had lovely fellowship during our dining with a host chef, a true master at his trade under the large Boma with plenty of comfortable seating options. You must inquire about booking him. He is very talented, interactive and a perfectionist with all the dishes he artfully prepared for us in the Bush!!! We sipped on delightful African wines at sunset under the thatched Boma roof, with expansive views of the property where you can enjoy Warthogs grazing right in front of you! And, my all time favorite were the memories and laughs we had by the fire in an open area of the property....with Hyenas in the midst! It was there, you could reach up and count the millions of stars in the sky above. We could view every constellation in the brightly lit sky above! Peter and Trish have truly created a Heavenly Paradise and I would highly recommend Kichaka Camp for a memorable, top quality retreat experience. They have done an exceptional job incorporating every detail to create this "outdoor camping experience with a safe indoor feel" in the natural beauty of Kenya! Kudos to both of them! Kichaka is a must see/must stay/must experience... not to be missed. I will be back!

“Kichaka Glamping is an environmentally friendly camp where you breathe in the surroundings of Kenya.”
Reviewed March 14, 2018 for a stay in February 2018

Kichaka Glamping is the perfect way to experience the beauty of Kenya. Hosts Tricia and Peter have delivered intimate comforts including spacious tents resting in the bush under acacia trees, outdoor showers, my favorite, where you could look to the sky and listen to the animals while being washed in clear, fresh water. Wherever you looked, you had a panoramic view of the property and surrounding hills. We ate all our meals in the full service outdoor kitchen while watching and listening to the sheep, impalas, warthogs and monkeys move about. The pool offered a retreat any time of day.You could walk the property and learn about their beehives, garden and solar system. The evenings were spent in conversation under the torch lit and candle lit bana. All your dreams will come true at Kichaka Glamping!

“Absolutely charming tented camp with wonderful hosts!”
Reviewed March 11, 2018 for a stay in February 2018

Pete and Tricia did everything to make us feel comfortable and at home. Loved the evenings by the fire. This is a quiet, relaxing oasis on a remote farm property. Extremely clean and the outdoor shower was magnificent!!! My only regret is that there wasn't a bottle of home made honey left to purchase. The bees are raised right there on the property. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Kenya!

“A peaceful retreat just one and a half hours from Nairobi”
Reviewed March 6, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

Kichaka camp is what you call real glamping. The hosts have paid attention to every detail to make this camp site a tranquil luxurious, glamour experience. The location is amazing with views over the Maparasha Hills. The tents are fully equipped and there a lots of different areas to just "chill out." Kichaka has a great pool area where you can barbeque, interesting walks to observe wildlife and a chill out tent with a fully equipped kitchen. This is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the big open African sky.

“Perfect place to find your serenity! Highly recommended glamping site tucked away under the Bisil hills”
Reviewed March 1, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

This eco-friendly, solar powered glamping site is genuinely a great escape. It is located about 2 hours south of Nairobi near a little Maasai town called Bisil. You have the choice of staying in bell tents or safari tents with open air showers so you can gaze at the stars while washing your hair! There is a lovely pool and pool-side banda which has all the cooking facilities you'd need for a weekend in the bush. You can hike up the hills to enjoy the lovely views while sipping on your sun downer! Or take a trip down to the local Bisil town to see what trinkets they have to offer on market days (which by memory is on Mondays and Fridays...?). You'll have to ask your hosts Tricia and Pete to double check that! Who are, by the way, the most friendliest and hospitable hosts you'll ever meet! For me, the best thing was being able to switch off from my usually-busy-and-technology-heavy life, lie out under the African sun reading my book and going in for dips in the pool every now and then. COULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ANY MORE!
