On 17th November booked for weekend stay to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary. Hotel was very busy with several large groups of ladies so had difficulty getting in for spa treatment but managed a couple of things over the two days.
Room basic but comfortable although no light over dressing table mirror. We were on the 4th floor but easy access via a lift. Staff very polite and friendly. Enjoyed the spa area and pool facilities but not impressed by the food in that part of the hotel or the price. Husband enjoyed the golf which was reasonably priced but went on his own both days, the ground being somewhat waterlogged.
The restaurant also was very expensive, in all we thought poor value for money. It was OK if you were not hungry as the portions were meagre.
On the Saturday as the hotel was full the dining room was very busy but staff coped well. On the following day which was our anniversary day, it was almost empty and cold as they had cranked the heating down due to many people checking out. It was very quiet & we were a bit disappointed with the lack of atmosphere.More
