Description: The Aldwark Arms is a beautiful village dining pub offering locally sourced, freshly cooked produce. Our menus change seasonally throughout the year. A la Carte, Early Bird, Special Event Nights and extensive lunch menus are available. We have an excellent selection of fine wines, stunning gins and many changing real ales. Members of Camra and Cask Marque accredited. We also received a tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence every year since we have been trading and have 5 stars out of 5 for our food hygiene rating.

Decided at the last minute that for the first time ever we would go out for lunch on Christmas Day, managed to get a table at The Aldwark Arms and have to say it was excellent, staff first class nothing to much trouble and the food first class, going back for my birthday and looking forward to it .

Thank Paul J

We spent one of the best New Year's Eves we've ever had at the Aldwark Arms this 2013/2014. Twelve of us went for the two course a la carte buffet evening and everything was just perfect. On arrival there was champagne for everyone before we were shown to our seats. The buffet was a real treat; there was so much choice. There was cold salads, a whole salmon, breads, gammon, thai green curry, chicken chausseur, roast port and the best of the lot the fillet of beef wellington - gorgeous! And for pudding there were individual trifles, brownies, sticky toffee pudding and cranberry bread and butter pud - all of them were so good we couldn't help but go back for more. The staff all looked after us brilliantly all night - making sure Grandma always had a full glass of Baileys! After the meal there was kareoke which was well attended and made for a vibrant atmosphere. A fantastic evening that was enjoyed by everyone there. Anyone who eats here will find it difficult not to be impressed. Thank you very much to Peter and the team!

We called in at The Aldwark Arms for midweek lunch. It's a lovely picturesque trip over from Leeds direction, through some beautiful countryside (even in winter) and passing over the rather quaint toll bridge.
The pub has recently been refurbished inside apparently and it is wonderfully bright, warm and welcoming with open fires. There's different areas to eat in or just have a drink and we plopped down on a curved bench seating near the fire. High chair for the baby and a light lunch menu to choose from. I can't eat bread so they did me a prawn salad, no hesitation. I also had a side order of chips - they were absolutely amazing, some of the best chips I think I've ever had!!
We had an unhurried relaxed lunch which was good value, well presented, friendly service, nothing to complain about whatsoever.
We'll definitely go back - it's now firmly on our list of country pubs to eat out at.

As the Aldwalk arms has recently been taken over by new owners we decided to give it a go, so glad we did, what a transformation, the décor is warm and inviting, with log fires making it very cosy, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, we were given time to have a drink before being shown to our table, the menu offers good choice of food, and most items on the menu can be bought in half portions which is great for the kids, the quality of the food is the best we have had in a long time the roast beef is amazing, we will most definitely be returning soon, cant wait to try the beef wellington.

Used to go every couple of weeks, initially when Chris took over in about 2009, food was always excellent, but progressively he lost focus, started jacking up the prices, service went off, food quality definitely fell. Attitude was take it or leave it, which was very sad as we really liked going
to this nice pub, good luck to the new owners, now new year is out of the way we will come and try your food and service which sounds very good. Can only finish this review by hopeful visit to come, tripadvisor should alter reporting to take this into account, also should heavily indicate new owners from a date, to give them equal chance to their competition.
