Peter, Pai and their daughter were lovely and couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Travelling with 2 picky toddlers and they were very accomodating, opening up their kitchen so we could cook something they may eat. We had a very early morning flight out of Chiang Mai (6am) and Peter took us to the airport himself at 4:30am! If you want to be made to feel like welcome family friends I couldn't recommend this place more.
It is a little out of town but the local town (10 mins away) Bo Sang has a lot of little shops selling handicrafts at lower prices than you will find in Chiang Mai town, even in the markets. Travelling into and out of Chiang Mai city takes 30 mins and is easy to do.
April in Chiang Mai is hot, hot, hot (36-40 degrees). We wouldn't go again at this time but would definately return to Chiang Mai and Secret Garden at a cooler time of year.More
