“Gorgeous proper home cooked food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2014 via mobile

This place is great. We went there for lunch today and the food was amazing. Helen is a brilliant and hard working chef and her home cooked meals are gorgeous - her soups, roast dinners, lasagne and curries are lovely. The bar manager Andy Also really friendly and this is a new (ish) place setting itself up - go there, the food is lovely!! You wont be disappointed the owner Helen is great. Well done you two, we will be back soon!

“POOR with a capital P”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 27, 2013

I understand this place has had a few issues, has changed hands and also changed the name to "The Coach House". I called in last night mainly out of intrigue.
I can't fault the effort that has been put in trying to upgrade the place but the staff were some of the most miserable and unhappy people I have ever met. The atmosphere felt almost tense, and the faces were like those that had had a very hard slap with a wet fish!
I certainly will not be returning!

“good luck to the coach house”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2013

the pen- y - bont recently changed hands and also its name, it is now the coach house. Helen and her new team are doing a grand job, with a new kitchen and decor the place is being transformed. The welcome is always warm and friendly, the prices are reasonable and we always look forward to calling in when visiting from manchester.

“Great lunch”

I called in for lunch, and enjoyed homemade hotpot with crusty bread rolls. Food was excellent. The cafe latte was great too. I will definately return.
