This is definitely the best hotel I've stayed in Mallorca. The setting is idyllic and the views are spectacular. James and his staff are always very helpful with ideas for local places to eat etc. The pool and garden are beautiful and the breakfasts are every thing I would expect from a luxury hotel: freshly squeezed juice, great coffee, fresh fruit salad, tempting pastries and eggs and bacon cooked to order. This can be eaten on the beautiful breakfast terrace or taken back to your own terrace if you want a more private and leisurely breakfast. Tea, coffee and pastries are also provided free in the afternoon which is a lovely touch. We only ate dinner in the hotel once but the food was excellent and the views from the roof top dining terrace were breath taking. We only wish we had been staying longer.

Set amongst olive trees and with wonderful views of the countryside, this place almost forces you to relax. James and his staff are wonderfully attentive whilst remarkably unobtrusive and combine to produce gorgeous food which is enjoyed in the most stunning of settings. There is an effortless perfection in everything that goes on here. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and hope to return soon.

i have been privileged to stay in many lovely hotels all over the world but in terms of tranquility, relaxation and rustic charm this is the best hotel i have stayed in. Everything about this hotel is excellent, the location, the staff, the service and the food.

If you are looking for a break to recharge the batteries which is off the beaten track then you MUST consider this hotel. James and his wife were excellent hosts and made our stay lovely in every aspect.

I look forward to returning in the future which is high praise as i rarely book the same hotel twice.

Our third visit and won't be our last. Fantastic location and we stayed in the new family suite which was recently finished - beautiful double room with an extra 'bed on a platform' and a separate lounge with a single bed and sofa which was easily enough room for us grown-ups and our two girls.

One of the things that makes Finca Es Castell stand out is the quality of the food which is the best we have ever eaten in Mallorca including our stays in Deia, Soller and Pollenca. They do amazing salads for lunch (around 12 euros) and the four course meals are superb - and they cater properly for my vegetarian wife... the kids dinners at 8 euros are not 'dumbed-down' kids meals and include lots of veg...

Paolo is an absolutely lovely welcoming hostess. Leigh is a star and probably the most athletic waitress in the world, managing to run up and down the stairs to the terrace carrying ice-buckets, food and very generous gin and tonics all at once... Suzie the chef produces the outstanding food.

Nestled at the very base of a mountain and with breath-taking views and pine-scented air, Finca es Castell is a real gem...

Room Tip: The new family suite is fantastic and we also loved the Olivera room when staying without the kids...

We had a very relaxed four days here. Owners and staff could not be more helpful and welcoming. No need to stir from the hotel if you don't want to (except Sunday when it doesn't do a lunch or dinner - an excellent opportunity to try one of their recommendations for a restaurant nearby).
Couldn't fault it, very likely we will go again.
