“Amazing Setting, Lovely Accomodation - If you get the weather you can't beat it!”
Reviewed April 22, 2014

We've been here many times as the location is amazing and if you get the weather you just can't beat it. This time we stayed in one of the Willow Log Cabins overlooking the pond - so restful with such a lovely outlook from the deck. Just a short stroll to the long sandy beach, our daughter loved the Zip Slide - there are two on the way to the beach together with some swings. There is also free putting (clubs and balls outside main reception) and you can play as often as you like. My husband is a keen fly fisherman and there is also a fly only pond on the site. The main pond is no fishing but it's great fun feeding the massive trout there some bread - you can see how big these fish are in the very clear water. The accomodation itself is fully functional, good size, with good wardrobe and drawer storage, very clean. Has some Sky channels and DVD player - the only wee niggle - the WiFi was touch and go more off than on - probably the system was overloaded with all the techy gadgets people have these days - we had taken the Wii to watch Lovefilm and Netflix and couldn't watch either for a week. Apart from that everything was brilliant. There is a grocers shop in Benderloch for food shopping and another shop with outdoor/giftware etc - for those forgotten wellies. Next to those shops there is a brilliant hill walk with great views at the top. The sealife centre is also just along the road and has been updated a bit since our last visit. Places well worth a visit are Poppies Tea Room And Garden Centre on the way to oban - lovely cafe with snacks and main meals and football size meringues along with lots of other homebaking - also has a gift shop, Also the Lochnell Arms Hotel in Connell does a brilliant Sunday carvery 12 -4pm well worth a visit. Also the Falls of Lora Hotel the other side of the bridge in Connell does a very nice lunch. All in all Tralee Bay Holiday Park is great which is why we keep coming back !

Lovely quiet location ideal for relaxing. Right on the beach for a nice stroll. Ten - fifteen minutes drive to Oban with lots of shops and restaurants. Five minute drive to the sealife centre. A nice walk into Benderloch with a small shop for supplies. A friendly cafe to for a snack.
The caravan we stayed in was well maintained and very clean. Staff very friendly. Easy booking process.
The site is open all year.
We will return.

This was our second trip to Tralee and unfortunately the weather was not that great. It's in a perfect location with a superb beach so if the weather is good then you would struggle to find better. Caravan was clean, had central heating ( very warm ! ) and comfortable. Only downside was the advertised wifi was tbh unusable - across multiple devices we tried several times but you couldn't seriously use the service even to read emails. On one very windy day there was also a constant rattle inside the gas fire flu cupboard which drove the dog to distraction !

Room Tip: Tip for chips - the onsite chipshop is very good. Portions are quite small so would be worth orderin...

On arrival there was a fault with our allocated static caravan, disappointment was quickly vanished when the receptionist advised they had upgraded us into a log cabin for the duration of our stay! What a bonus!!

The facilities in the cabin were brilliant and we had the added bonus of two bathrooms and a balcony, which had amazing views!

The site is very user friendly and easy to get around. The onsite fish and chips are a must one night, even if there is a small wait for them, its definitely worth it! All cabins are Very close to beach with a kids play area close by too.

Oban is only a short drive away to pop to the shops for your essentials.

We will defiantly be back and will recommend to friends and family.

Arrived on Thursday 13th Feb to be met at reception by 5 people 4 of whom did not even turn around to acknowledge me. Once we were shown to Islay lodge my jaw dropped to the ground because the cleaning standards were very poor. Coffee table that you could write your name on and under the television had not been moved to dust, the sofas were stained and torn and extremely uncomfortable. Cobwebs on the lights and wall clock. The mattress was just springs and very uncomfortable. Unfortunately I thought it could not get any worse but it did in the bathroom under the rim of the toilet excrement was found which had not been cleaned.
I think this is just totally unacceptable for "5 star" accommodation. I am going to be enquiring as to how you got your 5 stars because this trip it should be 2/3 stars.

Recently returned from a mid week break here. This was only our 5th visit which is much less than others have mentioned. However this area and park never disappoint. Had a wonderful week. Staff were very friendly and accommodating although we turned up early, nothing seemed to be a problem to them. Our lodge was spotless and in the middle of January when freezing outside very warm and comfortable.as usual left feeling desperate to return.

I started coming here 30 years ago before the current owners took over as a child. Back then it was great being a kid here with the surrounding countryside to explore, beach to play on and trouble to get in to. 30 years I bring my family back every few years to a warm welcome, some new improvements, and a have a relaxing holiday. My kids do exactly what I did back then, which is great. It is a safe environment for them to do that. I am sure we will be coming back for many years to come. Coincidentally we will be back in 2 weeks.
