“Little Gem :-)”
Reviewed July 1, 2012

Margaret and David are very friendly hosts and offered lots of helpful advice on where to go and eat in Oban. We stayed here for 2 nights and were really impressed with this B&B. The room was immaculate, with lots of space to put our things. The bed was really comfortable and the bedding was really fresh and modern. WiFi connection was good and allowed us to plan for the next day so was really useful. Good choice for breakfast, with cooked or continental options. I have an allergy to Mushrooms and they were very accomodating even cooking my eggs in a different pan :-) We would definitley recommend this B&B to others.

Margaret & David couldn't have been more welcoming and would even have allowed our 2 dogs to stay in the room. (We chose not to as they're quite hairy!) The double room was warm & cosy with plenty of space to put our things. The bed was comfy with lovely crisp white linen and good pillows. As the purpose of our trip involved yacht maintenance we were extremely grateful for the plentiful hot water and powerful shower. We opted for a traditional Scottish breakfast which didn't disappoint and we especially loved the fresh fruit. All in all a super B & B with easy access to dog friendly walks.

Room Tip: Upstairs double is ensuite and faces to the back away from the main road.

iI had a very clean comfortable room at the back of the house with a modern ensuite bathroom with good powerful shower. Margaret and David were friendly hosts and passed on helpful tips about things to do in the area. Breakfast was very good and included generous amounts of delicious home made white and brown bread. The free wifi worked well which is not always the case in this part of the country. Guests can park in the drive. Overall, I'd rate this b and b as excellent.

Stayed for three nights. Room was spotless and tastefully appointed. What made this B&B stand out from the others we stayed at were the hosts, Margaret and David Adams. The bigest compliment I can give them is that although we had never met before they treated us like old friends. Unfortunately the weather was shocking, but their warm welcome made up for it. We found the best place to eat nearby was the Hawthorn Restaurant, good food and friendly staff.

We have just returned from a one night stay whilst guests at a nearby wedding. Mrs Leadbetter was a lovely host and this place is how a small B&B should be run. The welcome was extremely friendly and our room was immaculate with a spotless ensuite bathroom/ shower. We were made to feel at home straight away.

The breakfast was a sight to behold, really good quality and enough to keep you going for hours. If you started each day with one then you soon would be too heavy to get out of bed! A quick glance at the visitor book showed a lot of very happy guests and we were a new addition.

I had been staying in Oban itself but my guest house couldn't do the final night, a Friday. I went to the tourist information centre and they found and booked the accommodation for me - a single person for one night only. I like to research establishments beforehand but I needn't have worried as Innis Chonain turned out to be a delightful B & B on the Oban to Fort William road. My room was immaculate, the breakfast was fantastic, and Mrs Leadbetter was the perfect hostess.

  • Liked — Comfy, clean and immaculate
  • Disliked — On a main road in a very small village
