My husband, baby daughter and I stayed at Mycock Cottage and couldn't have asked for anything more. The cottage was perfectly equipped and baby items were also supplied (cot, changing mat, nappy disposal, monitor, steriliser) which was extremely useful. The cottage was decorated to a high standard and having our own patio was really nice (not that we used it as weather was not so good). We went on a lovely walk from the cottage and explored some of the beautiful surrounding countryside. Deborah and Martin made us feel very welcome, even doing some washing for us when the laundry room was temporarily unavailable! If we return to the Peak District we would love to stay at Wheeldon Trees Farm again.

Room Tip: Mycock Cottage is fairly small upstairs but was perfectly fine for the 3 of us.

We stayed here as a large group for a weekend and had a great time! Not a bad word to say, the cottages were lovely and everything you could want or need was provided. Kate looked after our every need and I must recommend the breakfast baskets...they were amazing!! A big thank you to Deborah, Martin and Kate for making us feel so welcome!

My husband and I stayed at Walkers Rest a one bed roomed cottage, perfect size for a couple with everything there we needed as detailed in the booking. Very high quality furniture, crockery etc. Deborah and Martin very friendly and excellent hosts(and their daughter who was there to welcome us) If you didn't want to cook yourself there was a very good selection of home made meals to purchase in the freezer-Deborah's Shepherds pie and sticky toffee pudding were delicious! Also we were able to borrow rucksacks, walking poles etc.everything there for you. We used three of the guided walks from the cottage which were very well detailed. Certainly to be recommended-this was our fourth Premier Cottage which have all been good but this was definitely the best.

We stayed at Sheldon Cottage between the 3rd and 10th May 2013 with our two dogs. This was our second visit to Wheeldon Trees, and it was good to be back !! Sheldon Cottage is superb - it is very spacious with two bathrooms and two large bedrooms, comfy sofas and large comfy beds, brilliant views from the cottage windows, perfect for watching some wonderful sunsets!! Deborah and Martin are very welcoming and they really have thought of everything. The meadow was brilliant for the dogs to have a free run around before setting off on a walk or a trip in the car, they loved it. We were lucky to have some lovely weather over the Bank Holiday weekend when we enjoyed some of the local walks from the cottage, it was brilliant to see the baby lambs soaking up the sunshine on our way. This is such a beautiful place and such a peaceful setting, but within a short distance are many picturesque villages and superb walks and places of interest to see - we used the laminated guides in the cottages to walk to Longnor and to the Royal Oak - instructions are clear and easy to follow, we also visited Dovedale, Ilam Park and Bakewell - we will look forward to our next visit !

Wheeldon Trees is the best self catering complex we have stayed at, and we stay at a lot in the UK. Listed as 4* I don't understand why its not 5*. We are a dog owners and we find great difficulty in finding superior accommodation, in locations we wish to visit, that take dogs and at Wheeldon they don't charge an additional fee for dogs!!
It is all the extras that are provided make it a supberb place, we have visited twice already and plan to return, by extras we mean soap, shower gel, shampoo, cleaning materials, air freshener, cling film, foil, olive oil and much more in the on-site shop & laundry room. the location is outstanding yet close to Buxton, Bakewell and other picturesque villages. Martin & Deborah are friendly & helpful hosts, the cottages are spotless and the superking bed a bonus. I would suggest it is a great place for several generations of the same family to go and stay. A large barn conversion contains childrens toys and great place to play if its wet. There is dog walking on the doorstep as are many lovely pubs to visit/eat, where dogs are welcome, Buxton offers something for everyone. In the two weekly visits we have made we still haven't found time to see all that the Peak district has to offer, in our opinion better than the Lake district.
Caroline & Tony stayed in Priestly Cottage 3rd-10th May 2013

Room Tip: All cottages of an excellent standard, most with private gardens

Wheeldon Trees Fam cottages offered us everything we needed for a relaxing bank holiday weekend break.
Debra and Martin where lovely hosts and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. The cottages are eco friendly (Note: that does not mean basic), each cottage is really welcoming and comfy. On arrival we were welcomed by our hosts and on entering the cottage found they had provided us with homemade cake, biscuits, tea, coffee, milk etc.
Each cottage has lots of useful information about the local area, places to visit, pubs, restaurants and leaflets are provided detailing walks from the door (of various distances) many of which include a stop off at a pub or eatery.
A big bonus was the glorious weather we had all weekend which enabled us to get out and enjoy the lovely walks each day.
There is a well equipped games room which would have been really useful anusement had the weather been wet, also an onsite is a mini shop which we found to be really useful especially the home made meals, soups and puddings of which we enjoyed together with various locally sourced products.
We can hole heatedly recommend Wheeldon Trees if you are looking for a relaxing break and are looking forward to our next visit.
