“Lovely cosy cottage. Very homely.”
Reviewed August 31, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We stayed here over the august bank holiday and must say its a lovely quaint cosy place and felt really homely.
The location is ideal and central to all the popular areas such as dovedale and matlock and thors cave.
There is a general store next door and a newsagents and a pub over the road.

After a long day walking it was nice to come back and sit down and relax with one of the many board games that are left there. Or browse through a large collection of books and dvds.

I will definately recommended this cottage to friends and family.

“Nice cottage, good location”
Reviewed July 4, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

As a base of operations for a couple of nights in the peak district Meri Cottage fit the bill. The pub across the road does great food and the staff were very friendly. The village shop is right next door and so getting in essential supplies was easy. Amenities in the house were good, the beds were comfortable, and the terrace garden was a nice place to relax after a day of exploring the area.
There was an unfortunate situation that on arrival the house was not ready for guests, which after 4 hours of travelling was not really what we wanted. We arrived a good 3 hours after check-in time too, but we took ourselves away from the situation for another couple of hours and it was soon resolved.
I'm sure this is just a blip but it did give a bad first impression. The owners were very apologetic and a discount for a future stay was offered, but if you're the sort of person who doesn't stay in the same place twice then this wasn't really much of a compensation.

“Cosy, character cottage in delightful village”
Reviewed June 29, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Meri Cottage is cosy, comfortable and extremely well-equipped and exceeded our expectations. Hartington is the perfect base from which to explore the southern Peak District, with many walks possible directly from the village. The Devonshire Arms served delicious meals, the Village Stores sold freshly baked pies and bread and the Cheese Shop provided an excellent range of local cheeses.

“Excellent cottage, ideal getaway location”
Reviewed March 24, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

The cottage was excellent all round. The kitchen had everything you could ever need, bedrooms are all spacious and beds comfortable. The lounge also has plenty of room for dining or lounging in front of the tv. Hartington is a lovely little village, we found it the perfect weekend getaway. Thanks

“Cosy Getaway”
Reviewed February 3, 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Had a lovely, relaxing stay at the Meri Cottage. It snowed quite heavily the day before and the day of departure which made a tricky drive there but it was well worth it. The owner, Jonathan, was very helpful when I was worried about not being able to travel and offered to rearrange the booking if the weather was too bad. However, we made it and the cottage and surroundings looked beautiful in the snow. Everyone in the village is friendly and there are a few little shops so you can get all your household goods if needed.

I hope to return to the Meri Cottage, it was a well needed relaxing break!

“Excellent stay at Meri Cottage”
Reviewed December 31, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed for 3 nights in May. The weather was amazing and the cottage was very well laid out, and quite spacious. You could see out on to Market Square from the sitting room which was great. It was so quiet and private, but at the same time you were in the heart of the village as soon as you stepped outside the front door.
The garden terrace was amazing, and it was lovely to just sit and relax when we returned from our walks.
