Great atmosphere, very good food, fantastic wines. Unquestionably TOP10 in Hungary. All foods are freshly made and according to the season. Unfortunately you can only pay by cash (thank you, Hungarian banks...) but there is an ATM only a hundred meters from the restaurant.

We visited Raspi on a Friday in August 2012. The ambience is little changed - for us, at least, the covered courtyard was new, and they are also tastefully furnished rooms (currently 4 of them) for guest who do not want to walk, drive or bike after a sumptuous meal.
The general attitude is unchanged - and a previous reviewer is completely mistaken about freshly prepared food: uncompromising in raw materials, and cooking. We had freshly harvested Caesar's mushroom, excellent goose liver terraine, stuffed paprika and catfish fillet with frehs pasta and a cream sauce. All was excellent: well prepared, elegantly spiced. This is justly considered one of the best restaurants in Hungary.
The wines are also mostly of Raspi's production, and are clean, well made, always good and often wonderful, esp. the reds.
The service is friendly - sometimes a little confused, but for me, the ambience and food amply compensate if that is to be parcelled out (I think it should not).

a unique restaurant at first sight with tasteful, stylish interiors
unfortunately waiters are unskilled, and unattentive, they speak only HUngarian
most of the food isn't freshly prepared, which is a pity if you consider the relatively high prices
it started well when we arrived, but left with disappointment
could be a much better place with more attention to details

We have arrived with a party of 12 along our Lake visit tour. We came specifically to this place by someone's recommendation, and we absolutely had no requirements. Actually we only wanted to have a light lunch. After observing the menu, the waiter came to take the orders. The menu contained about 20 items all together, but at least 10 items were "out of stock". The whole situation was very embarrassing, since they didn't proactively tell us what they didn't have...we kept asking for meals, or items one-by-one and the answer often was: Sorry, we don't have any more onion soup, no lamb...etc. From their home-made refreshment drinks they also had to deny our first 2 requests due to shortage even though they offer you a take-home option of these in bottles.
When I personally asked the waiter to tell me more details about the only pasta dish they had, he simply couldn't answer me, what the dish looks like, how it is made....unbelievable, describing the only pasta dish out of the total 20 meals was to big of a challenge to the head waiter.
The restaurant was totally empty, there was only our group, but still the service was slow, and amateur. The dishes came out separatly from each other. From the Fisherman's soup, they totally forgot the noodles. When we requested to do have some pasta into the soup, it took another 5 minutes for them to get it ready, so the soups got already cold. The food itself was ok, but likely more average then anything special. Basically no reason to return here. The biggest disappointment was the denial from the staff to accept a credit card. Can you imagine the situation, when we faced with the fact at the end, that 12 of us needs to collect and put the cash together for a really costly meal. We’re talking about a village on the countryside on Sunday at noon, with no ATM around, no banks open. We were extremely lucky we found some cash on us, otherwise this could have turned out to be my worst gastronomical experience ever, because I have no idea, how we could have settled the bill in a different method and the staff was not too helpful to solve this issue for us. This restaurant claims to be one of the top 50 restaurants in Hungary. Well, not for me and my 11 other friends share this opinion!!! It is a shame, that such a charming place (the building is really-really nice), with a bad service and average cuisine is losing everything a quality restaurant should stand for! There wasn’t a single move during our visit, which approves the “official rank” of this restaurant.

We just loved the food, the wines, and it wasn't expensive at all. We slept in the nearby hostel, and we had a great dinner at Raspi.
