“Charming and peaceful setting”
Reviewed June 15, 2014

Endorsing recent reviews, stayed at Chryssa Villa, which had its own grounds surrounded by olive trees, and beautiful flowering shrubs. Large size outside pool ( cleaned daily) and sunbathing area, with overhead trailing grape vines, perfect setting.

Villa has a large veranda for outside dining, three large double bedrooms with air conditioning. Greek style lounge and well appointed kitchen ( a few more cooking utensils would have been useful, but the restaurant onsite serves very good fresh Greek food, and the menu changes daily, ate there 4 times very impressed. Daily housekeper who keeps everything spotless.

Marlene who runs the onsite restaurant, makes you very welcome, nothing is too much trouble. We stayed for the Greek night which isn't really are scene, but this was outstanding, and would highly recomend.

The site does have a childrens play area, and enclosed football pitch, but although site full, it was extremely quiet and peacefull, so no concerns.

This is an extremely well laid out complex, every villa detached and enclosed by grounds , trees and hedges , very private and secluded, and extremely well looked after.

A very quainte setting, in the valley of olive and lemon trees, secluded and very quiet and peaceful, but 200 metres from a road to transport you to any part of the Island, which is very beautiful and well worth visiting, as all the Greek people in the local shops, Tavernas etc try so hard to please especially as their economy is being hard hit.

Summing up, ideal retreat, everyone tries hard to make your holiday perfect, would go back again.

Because it so quiet, be prepared for barking dogs, cockeralls and the morning chorus at 5.00am, if you are a light sleeper take some ear plugs. Only comment on the villa, was the small bathroom, small bath with hand held shower, which was dissapointing, needs updating to a shower cubicle. You have to let the hot water run a long time before its hot so be prepaired, but these are only minor points.

Overal all three of us had a Great Holiday, many thanks to Everyone.

Room Tip: Look at the villas with Shower cubicles.

What a fantastic place. We spent a week at the villas actually we stayed in the Chryssa Villa. We had our own pool which was kept spotlessly clean each morning by Reddi who is part of a family who help the owner run the site. The villa is set in its own secluded grounds so that you have your privacy even though there are 13 other villas on the complex. We were made welcome as we arrived by Marlene and throughout the stay she could not do too much for us. What a fantastic lady. If you go there soon say hello from Jane and Jon for us. We mainly ate at the small venetian style restaurant which was in crawling distance from the villa most nights and if we didn't fancy anything on the menu board we only had to ask and Maria the chef pulled out the stops to make sure we had what we then asked for. Where else would you get that type of service. There's not much to see and do on Zakynthos except look at a lot of lovely scenery and may be take a boat out of one of the small fishing villages and captain your own way round the bright blue sea looking at caves and small secluded coves, having a swim in warmish sea, enjoying the sun etc. etc. etc. or you could be really touristy and go on a boat trip to see the blue caves and the shipwreck. Still if you are an explorer then head round the island in a car and visit the small off the main road tracks and you will find scenery and views which are amazing. Head out towards the shipwreck viewing point on the north west tip of the island and there are little stalls at the side of the road selling local honey. We stopped and were treated to a variety of different types of honey. It was so hard to chose from which one we were going to have on toast the next morning.
Any way back to the villa, it's set in a grove of olive, lemon and orange trees and is delightful. Ask Marlene when you go and she will take you on a tour of all the different fruit bearing trees around the villas. Almost every fruit you think about, there's a tree on site somewhere. The villa is cleaned daily by the maid and is well appointed. The swimming pool where we spent a lot of time recharging our batteries has a few comfortable sun beds and plenty of shade when its a bit hot. The 7 grape vines in the arbour on pool side provide the shade when you need it and last week we were just imaging the bunches of grapes which would be hanging above us later this year. Everything on site is spotless and the owner makes a visit each night to check that his staff have not left anything undone. Be warned though that most of the villas apart from Joanna have small baths with a hand held shower but hey if you want to laze in a tub of water all holiday go outside to your own pool and do it. Final words... we will be back.. already looking at when we can get out there next. Just loved the holiday and the villa and it was a magic week. Oh I forgot..the Greek night on a Wednesday..12 euros a head, as much wine as you can drink, 4 course meal, Greek dancers, good company on communal tables ( there were only 7 couples on the site when we went and we met new friends there) The site is shared with a Dutch tour company and other visitors were bussed in from elsewhere on the island. The best Greek dancing we have ever been too. (we have been to quite a few over the years on different islands in Greece). And once again the hardest thing was we had to crawl back to the villa at the end of a very nice evening. A word of warning there are lots of bugs about in the evening so you really do need to have a good repellent with you. Now then where's that pone number for booking our next lot of chill out time at the villas..... :)

What a beautiful setting for 16 attractive villa's. All with own private pool that is cleaned every day as is the villa. Towels and beds changed twice a week, plus pool towels supplied perfect. We had a little hamper that a well chosen things in it which did us for a good few days IE. milk, coffee, tea, fresh orange juice.jam, bread, butter, cheese, turkey red and white wine and some fresh fruit off their own trees heaven. The Saturday Greek night was really good and you only had to walk a few yards back to your villa. The Restaurant on site had some really nice meals, and Marlene what can you say, she was great. A very nice two weeks holiday which we hope we will return to one day.

As soon as you turn into the drive way to the Villa's you know you've made a good choice, beautiful long drive way guarded by superb plants rustic rock walls and then comes Marlene, the hostess with the mostest to greet you and nitro dunce you to your home for 2 weeks. The villas are perfect, spacious, well equipped, clean (cleaners come everyday) and rustic... The creeky floor boards and stairs are noisy and the occasional bit of mortar may fall on you, but hey that's the charm of the place. We had a welcome basket on arrival which included coffee, bread, milk, cake and wine which was a nice touch, the local supermarket (the AB) is just 10mins away, for a bigger shop go to the LIDL nr the airport.

Aresti is in a great location, about 20 mins from the airport and ideal for venturing out and seeing the entire island as we did, just make sure you have a hire car. From here we visited all the locations we wanted from Volimes to Keri and when home we cooled of in the super pool.

Also recommended is the Greek nights that they run on Saturdays, don't expect 5 star food and be careful of the local wine it can pack a punch in he morning, just go with a fun attitude and get involved its a great night.

I would recommend the Aresti villas to anyone and if there wasn't to much of the world to still see or i could afford 2 big hols a year, I would go back every year!

Just returned from two weeks in Villa Ilea. The villa is perfect - very spacious and well designed with an authentic rustic look and feel (inside and out). Beware of creaky floor boards though! Cleaned daily, as was the pool - excellent service. A great base to explore the island, and a great way to cool off in your own pool. Towels provided for the sun loungers. A welcome pack on arrival - bread, ham, cheese, milk, wine, jam, juice - everything you need for that first 24 hours - a really nice touch. A hire car a must, but everything is fairly close. My daughter described the villa as the 'perfect holiday'. Would definitely recommend. Good facilities on site - restaurant does good food, and hosts a weekly Greek Night - music, dancing - great value and fun. Marlene is a great hostess, and remembers names well!

Just returned after a 2 week stay in villa Chryssa, very pleased with all aspects of our holiday! Arrived at the airport to find our brilliant rep there to give us all the information you could possibly imagine which was very well used throughout the holiday as it included some beautiful places to visit. At the villa, you get a cleaner everyday and the pool was cleaned regularly or more so if needed. All the staff there were very useful but especially Marlene who was there to help with anything. She learnt and remembered all of our families names and constantly had a smile on her face. If it wasn't for Marlene then the trips to the restaurant on site would not be the same. All the food was fantastic and we ate there more than once. The holiday really exceeded our expectations as nothing was too much trouble for anybody and all the trips/excursions we did were brilliant. An overall fantastic holiday.
