A beer shop, with taps to have a drink in if you want. The proprietor worked in pubs for years, and really knows his stuff! Always a really interesting selection of beers available. I particularly enjoy the Belgian beers they have in!

The Beer Asylum has an amazingly comprehensive selection of beers, porters and stouts to choose from. You can take a seat and try something from on tap or open up a few bottles to enjoy right then and there. Or, if you're on a schedule you can simply pick what you like and go. The prices are competitive and the selection far exceeds anything you'll find in your local supermarket.

There is also a growler filling station so you can take home your favourite beer on tap to enjoy later. I tried this myself with a lovely Mint Stout - it's a very novel feature that I wish more places offered.

As if this wasn't enough they also offer regular events such as beer and food pairings or meet the brewer style events. Fair warning these sell out fast so get in while you can.

Being situated a few minutes walk from the local Tube station they're not just for the locals to enjoy as it's only 20 minutes from Baker Street on the Metropolitan line.

The atmosphere is friendly and chilled out - being able to see the wide range of beers on offer all around you really adds to this as you can simply get up and browse for your next choice with no pressure of someone waiting for you to decide at a bar.

All in all the Beer Asylum offers a great selection of craft beers to either enjoy in for a few quiet ones or take away. The owner and staff are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their field. Being so accessible there really is no excuse not to go!

Friendly and helpful staff offering a great selection of tasty craft beers, ales, stouts and porters.
Four draught beer taps pouring something new every time one is finished, very rare to see a repeat draught and staff always happy to let you have a snifter first to try them out.
Nice cosy venue which hosts guest visits from up and coming as well as established brewers from across Europe (mostly Belgium and German) but with a focus on those local to London as well.
And for those less enthusiastic for beer there is even a small selection of wine, prosecco and dare I say it... soft drinks!
Usually a bar of this calibre would be in the heart of the city. London venues watch out as just 25 mins from Baker Street - rock on the asylum!

Love this place. My husband and I go quite often as he's a craft beer enthusiast so decided to have a fabulous birthday there this weekend with very happy guests. Staff are great and the whole concept is brilliant. I just wish it stayed open until 11pm so that we wouldn't have to go on smw else that is not nearly as good!

Its been there a while now, and although it claims to sell craft and and have real ale on tap, the taps have craft ales and lager and there's not a hand pump (or barrel with a tap) in sight.

The beer choice on both tap and in the bottle is OK, and they have started stocking a few mini bottles of wine, but I cant help thinking there should be real ale, without the added gas.

There's competition just a bus ride away that does it properly. Beer Asylum is missing out, and so am I. What a shame.
