“Head Quarters of Dwaitha Philosophy”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

The Temple ambience, the Diety, The Ashta Matt.s, the history behind the Deity and founder of this Temple, everything is very Attractive. I visit this Temple for the last 12 years. The uniqueness is Eight Mutts how they manage this temple on a 16 years cycle (2yeras per mutt), the Paryaya festival (change of power between mutts) which is celebrated in a grand Ritualistic manner. Thousands gather to see it. A very good tourist attraction.

“Enchanting Krishna, Egalitarian Krishna”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

This Krishna of Udupi is very special. Apart from his captivating appearance and benevolence, legend has it that he opted to turn his back to caste conscious callous group and gave darshan to the humble Kanakadasa, who was refused entry into the temple. The back wall of the sanctum sanctorum gave way upon Lord's grace, so also the outer wall! God looks at the inner soul and the devotion and not the external appearance or the background of the person. The temple is maintained with all its old glory with the minimum of tech support. Present Paryaya of Sode mutt are very sincere and well organised. Visit temple in the early morning. Great Experience.

“Krishna Idol is Mesmerising”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

One wants to just keep watching the Idol of Lord Krishna Idol.. The Idol has to be viewed from the window back side of the temple.. Must visit the pond area for a spiritual experience.. the Matt people are very co-operative and tell us the history of the temple lovingly.. All devotees of all caste & creed are welcome here too.. Very nice religious & spiritual visit..
