“As good as it can get in a small town in Kosovo”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

Really very good, especially considering the location. Peja is a small town in western Kosovo, so despite the beautiful location you don't necessarily expect much. This is as good as any four star hotel in Eastern Europe. I've stayed many times now, in all seasons. In the winter, it's a little cold and hard to get the room warm; this is my biggest complaint. The breakfast has varied in quality, from exceptional the first few times to only passable this last time. But it's free, and there are plenty of options close by if you want to pay.

The location is perfect, right downtown near the main square and, as I mentioned, near many wonderful restaurants. There is a usable gym, a warm swimming pool, a sauna, haman, and basic spa services are available (I have not tried them but they are affordable). The staff is welcoming and helpful, weather pressing clothes last minute or printing plane tickets. The attached restaurant is good and they will do room service. Mini bar is affordable. As a recently renovated/rebuilt hotel, everything is clean and modern looking. The appointments are a little cheap looking and the lights are cool CFLs, which isn't my preference but doesn't really detract. All rooms I have stayed in have a balcony that is very nice.

Again, the only hotel I would recommend in Peja and very much worth the price.

Peja is an thriving town at the entrance of Rugova (think snow capped mountains, waterfalls, and refreshing valleys). The recently renovated Dukagjini Hotel IS the social/economic center of the municipality located on the main square and the glacier fed river. The staff is very courteous and responds promptly. My deluxe room (#307) was on a corner with great views of the mountains and the town. The restaurant/cafe is pleasingly full of friendly local people with good food. I understand that the owner, Ekrem Lluka, is one of the wealthiest persons in Kosova and bought the hotel from the government to transform it into a deluxe place for visitors to his town. He and whomever advised him for the major renovation accomplished his objective in superb fashion! No complaints as it exceeded the expectations of my friends and me!

well what can be said more than if I say that this hotel exceed my expectations. I have to admit I was a bit skeptic on the overall trip, but Pec is worth seeing and this hotel is part of the experience.
I would say a bit pricey for a hotel outside the capital (especially if you go off season), but the location is impeccable.

Room Tip: all rooms are good since the city is not lively all through the night. so you can go wrong. although...

After a night in Pristina we travelled here for a 1 night stay prior to crossing the border.

Very relieved when the taxi pulled up alongside the hotel to see that we'd definitely booked the right place! The hotel is right next to the main pedestrian street (Korza) which has all the bars and restaurants and where all the locals head for at the weekend and evenings.

Check-in for the 5 of us was very fast, we were all shown up to our rooms very quickly. The staff also answered all my questions about getting into Montenegro the next day. Within a few minutes they'd called the company, told me the timing and route and confirmed that there would be space for the 5 of us to travel next morning. Very impressive, big thumbs up.

The lobby area is very spacious, with the obligatory grand piano in the corner. There is a bar to one side and a large cafe at the front that has a terrace along the river. Lots of locals come in at weekends to use the cafe, and be 'seen' so it's a good spot to relax and watch the world go by.

The rooms are very nicely decorated, and look very modern. My room was at the front so had a balcony overlooking the street and Korza (The only thing that made me feel umcomfortable was that the street to the right was named after Tony Bliar!!) The bathrooms are also very well appointed, although the toilet is situated within the large shower area so if you're sharing, bear that in mind!

There is free wi-fi throughtout the hotel for guests to use, and the swimming pool/spa area is also very nice.

If you're in Pec, this is definitely the place to stay. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms at the fron overlok the street and Korza square, rooms at the back overlook the cafe and river...

I stayed here 5 nights and it is absolutely stunning. The staff were very professional, friendly and went ut of their way to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We ate in the restaurant almost every night, the food was delicious and very good value for money.
I would definitely recommend this property to any staying in Peja because it is in a great location close to the nightlife and shopping. I would stay here again in a heart beat

Room Tip: We had the lead in room which was the cheapest one and it was great so you can't go wrong with a...

The thing I appreciated the most about this hotel is great restaurant. Really rare jewel in the area. Food is prepared with quality ingredients and is very tasty. Excellent rating just for that.

Rooms are nice and clean.

Pool and spa in the basement... it's excellent! I like it a lot.

Parking is a problem. Hotel is in the city center, everywhere is crowded by cars.

The hotel with 67 rooms is well maintained and located next to the river Lumbardhi. A pedestrian precinct is adjacent to the hotel. The city center can be reached on foot in a few minutes. As is quite common with hotels in the Republic of Kosovo there is no reasonable parking space outside the hotel. At the Dukagjini you have to park your car on the sidewalk.

The front desk staff was friendly, the service in the hotel's cafe very inattentive, however, so we left and had a meal in a near-by restaurant. Breakfast at the hotel was of average quality.

Our room was relatively small but nicely furnished. It offered a view of nearby houses and the Albanian Alps in the background. The TV had a large screen and a huge range of programs was available; the Wi-Fi worked well. The large terrace lacked a privacy screen to the neighboring rooms.

All in all the hotel offers affordable and nice accommodation.
