The countryside is a little flatter than the dramtic splendour of the Tuscan hills but nearby villages are charming and local restaurants authentic. This is a great place to base yourself if you are prepared to drive in all directions.
As for Fontelunga I see all glowing reports from some happy campers - but it can be quite different if the management feel you don't fit in.
You can get a distinct feeling that you are intruding on their home which can make your whole stay quite awkward and service for us became a little prickly and prissy, so we decided to keep ourselves to ourselves which was fine in the end but not perfect.
I suppose these small country guest houses can be a little hit and miss and I can understand how some would love this place - perhaps we were looking for a more relaxed atmosphere - but i know there are many more comfortable places to stay in more scenic areas nearby.More
