wonderful bed & breakfast placed in a very nice location.
The owners are really helpful and kind. The restaurant close to the b&b is excellent and they can also provide gluten free food. We stayed in the room "Junior suite" which is a large room at first floor with a special view on Tuscany hills.
There's also a quite lazy but friendly dog, Merenda, who welcomes you at your arrival!

We spend 2 nights in La Lodala and felt fully at home.

The owners did everything to make our stay a very rememberable one. Family cooking is wonderfull. We also took some of the house wine with us. Roomy are very charming. Phantastic service.

Our 4 years old daughter became ill and we were helped in getting a doctor etc.

After looking on line at various places to stay, we decided to book La Lodola, I had read the reviews on trip advisor.... and never in my wildest dreams would believe that any where could be so perfect... we were greeted by the infamous "Mario", from the moment we arrived, to the moment we reluctantly left the family made us part of their family, on our 2nd day Mario invited us for lunch, he made home made pasta, hand picked tomatoes and herbs from the garden, we ate with Mario and his wife - for desert she shook various fruit tress... what ever fell- that was desert...Bliss. We were in Tuscany at a friends wedding, and decided there and then that this was the place we wanted to get married ourselves next year, and after sampling Mario's son's food decided that he was the person to cater - his food was amazing !!! (he has a restaurant attached to the B & B) on our final night Mario and his son agreed to feed the whole wedding party, they greeted our friends with Prosecco and snacks... a warm italian evening, under vines and stars, amazing food and great wine, at a quarter of the price you would pay here. The house also needs a mention - Mario and his wife have amazing taste, this is a beautiful home that they kindly share with guests, every little thing is chosen with care, We were lucky enough to have the suite the beds are comfortable, the slipper bath - with the most amazing views is a real luxury, We are lucky enough to have stayed in some of the most amazing hotels in the world... this one knocks the socks off them all.... If you are reading this review with the view to visiting La Lodola Im jealous...In fact 'm literally green with envy - Enjoy !!

The family Porcu has created a treasure called La Lodola. La Lodola is beautiful package of extraordinary homey atmosphere, sophisticated style and warm hospitality without being a bit snobish. All that they do, they do with the style. Especially Mario, Carlo and Manuela make you feel so comfortable and welcome like you were a part of the family.

The food of the Osteria della Lodola is excellent, absolutely the best in the area. You can never know what Carlo has figured out for the dinner, but it is always delicious. The Menù changes every day and he uses lots of fruits and vegetables from his garden. The breakfast is Mario's thing. Every morning he makes a fresh lovely cake which pleasent smell wakes you up. His homemade jams are also heavenly.

The location of La Lodola is really good. It takes only about 30 minutes with the car to get for example to Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano and Montalcino, and even less to Lucignano and Foiano. Siena and Florence are very near too. And by the way, at Pienza you can find two magnificent antique shops of Signrora Beatrice Porcu. The whole Lodola is furnished by the antique furnitures and if you feel like it you can buy for example the table of your room.

If you want to relax La Lodola's peaceful garden or pool area are the perfect places. The whole beautiful country side of Tuscany is around you and you feel to be a part of it.

We return to Lodola every year, sometimes many times during the year. After we have seen many places around Tuscany we have found place called Heaven.

What a wonderful experience. We were greeted most graciously by Manuella, the daughter-in-law to Mario. After we unpacked we sat outside under the Tuscan sun and enjoyed bread and wine that she generously offered us after our day of travel. Manuella and her husband Carlos run the restaurant - the food was delicious and the atmosphere was typical tuscan. Both evenings we ate there it was filled with locals - we will never forget the meals and the service. We loved it. The breakfasts prepared by Mario consisted of fresh fruit, sausages, cheese, caffe, breads and of course his famous - out of the oven - coffee cakes. Thank you Mario, Manuella, and Carlos for our first and definitely not our last experience of Tuscany.
