“Basic but good”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

We had a clean two bedroomed cabin with our loo and shower in a separate cabin a few steps away. On arriving from a long trip the children wanted the pool which was the local free town one a short car drive away. Returning to the site and then cooking one the BB was a bit difficult as there was no lighting, it was August. However, we had two very comfortable nights.
Full marks to Katrina on trying to help us on our pre booked day trip to Amhem Land, bus not turning up.

This was a great place for the four of us to stay. We were two couples, so we shared a cabin with two bedrooms and a shared kitchen and bathroom (which was outside next door but just for our unit - not at all as inconvenient as it seemed when reading about it). The rooms were quiet and private. Air conditioning (a necessity) worked perfectly. Kitchen appliances worked well too and were great for making breakfast and dinner. There was a grill outside that we cooked fish on one night and a picnic table out front on the porch. Overall a great place. Certainly not five-star accommodations but considering where you are it was perfect. Don't think any maid ever came and replaced our towels during our five day stay but they are quite environmentally aware there so that's probably why not.

Thank you for taking the time to review Lakeview Park, Kakadu. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay here with us in one of our cabins and made good use of the facilities.
It is company policy to do a linen change after a four day stay and it seems that this was overlooked. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank you again for your kind comments.

With shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, this is really more of a hostel than a hotel, but not only does the price reflect that, but it was actually good to mix with people in the cooking area. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable - I had one of my best night's sleep there. And there was air-conditioning!

We booked a 2 bedroom bungalow for our family with a young baby.
On arrival one of the bedrooms turned out to be open to the living room/kitchen. It was impossible to sleep there while the lights were on in the kitchen/living room. It was unsuitable for a young kid with an early bedtime. When we complained about this the receptionist didn`t take us seriously at first. She told me that if I wanted 2 proper bedrooms I should rent a one bedroom bungalow next to the "2 bedroom" one we already had and split up the family (at full price of course!). I insisted that we had booked and paid for 2 bedrooms. Their failure to provide that should not bring extra costs for us. She had to call the manager to resolve the situation but in the end we were given a different bungalow with 2 real bedrooms. The 6 bungalows filled up pretty fast so if we had arrived a bit later in the day they would not have been able to do that.
After that incident everything was simply perfect. The cottage was spotlessly clean, everything we needed was there and it was serviced daily. We had a nice terrace to sit outside in the evenings and a BBQ right next to the terrace. Both bedrooms were airconditioned and very comfortable. A baby cot and clean linen for it were provided. Unfortunately they don`t have any highchairs. The lack of a pool didn`t bother us as Jabiru public pool is nearby, inexpensive and very nice.
I highly recommend Lakeview but with a young family it would be a good idea to email them beforehand to make sure you get a REAL 2 bedroom cottage.

Room Tip: Some bedrooms in the 2 bedroom bungalows are open to the living room/kitchen. With a young family it...

The site is located next to the town Jabiru, we can find the supply from the supermarket in the morning. Small site but clean, power site has a concrete floor which we like to put the pinic table. You can have private bath and toilet. BBQ stove is clean.

The setting was nice, too bad about the construction on site. The rooms were clean. We arrived a little late in the day and were looking or some activity for that nit or early the next morning. The person at the counter was useless. He advised it was too late to book anything. Did not even try. I think he could've been a lot more helpful as we're all other places we state at a lot the way. Other than this, a good place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from construction site

We do have construction happening in the Park at the moment but the good news is, it is near completion with the new restaurant, cabins and a swimming pool almost ready for guests.
We are sorry that your experience with reception was not helpful. We are thankful for this feedback and have commenced more training on customer service.

We stayed for two nights in a bush bungalows. Despite of the fact that we booked a double bed room and got a single beds one, we really enjoyed our stay. The bungalow was really clean and spacious. The only negative point was the construction site located next to our bungalow which doesn't allow us to sleep in the morning.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay in one of our Bush Bungalows. They are quite unique and the staff here are very proud of the surrounding gardens. The good news is, that the constuction is nearly finished and Lakeview Park, Kakadu will soon have a new restaurant and a pool for our guests to enjoy.
Thank you for taking the time to review our establishment.
