“Clean and comfortable”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

The setting was nice, too bad about the construction on site. The rooms were clean. We arrived a little late in the day and were looking or some activity for that nit or early the next morning. The person at the counter was useless. He advised it was too late to book anything. Did not even try. I think he could've been a lot more helpful as we're all other places we state at a lot the way. Other than this, a good place to stay.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from construction site

We do have construction happening in the Park at the moment but the good news is, it is near completion with the new restaurant, cabins and a swimming pool almost ready for guests.
We are sorry that your experience with reception was not helpful. We are thankful for this feedback and have commenced more training on customer service.
Thanking you for taking the time to review Lakeview Park, Kakadu.

We stayed for two nights in a bush bungalows. Despite of the fact that we booked a double bed room and got a single beds one, we really enjoyed our stay. The bungalow was really clean and spacious. The only negative point was the construction site located next to our bungalow which doesn't allow us to sleep in the morning.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay in one of our Bush Bungalows. They are quite unique and the staff here are very proud of the surrounding gardens. The good news is, that the constuction is nearly finished and Lakeview Park, Kakadu will soon have a new restaurant and a pool for our guests to enjoy.
Thank you for taking the time to review our establishment.

The township of Jabiru makes a great destination if you're driving from Darwin to Kakadu National Park - and Lakeview Park makes a great place to stay. We were in a two-bedroom cabin with a good kitchen, a pleasant veranda, and comfortable lounge/dining area (and very good beds). When we arrived, the air con was on and everything we needed for our two-night stay was at hand. The toilet and shower are outside, down a short, well-lit path, so that's a bit different, but it worked for us. And the price was the most reasonable of anywhere we stayed in the Northern Territory. We had four nights in Kakadu and I would recommend doing what we did - two nights in Jabiru because it's a good day from Darwin if you throw in a jumping croc tour and Windows on the World. Then we did a tour to Arnhemland the next day and sunset at Ubirr, but you might want to do a Guluyambi boat tour and Ubirr. The next day, after check out, we made the short drive to Gagadju at Cooinda for the next two nights. We thought Lakeview Park was a very pleasant place to stay, with infinitely more NT charm than the Crocodile Holiday Inn. I would give it five stars except that it does not currently have a pool. We understand this is being rectified. Then it will be perfect!

Thank you for your great review and recommendation. It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the Lakeview Park, Kakadu. We are central to some of the main sights to see in Kakadu being Ubirr, Nourlangie and the Guluyambi Cruise and yes, we are currently having a swimming pool built.
We hope if you visit Kakadu again someday, that you will stay with us at the Lakeview Park, Kakadu.
Thank you again.

We booked a van site with ensuite facillities which suited us very well. Lake Jabiru Park down the road with playground was a hit with the kids. Quiet relaxing surrounds during our two day stay. Thank you :)

stayed with a tour group and for our first accom. it turned out to be our best. Love the openness of the airflow walls. Outside bathroom great and kept all the steam outside. We did have a couple of young kids staying next door that didn't know the meaning of shutting the door and continued to slam it till in the middle of the night someone from another "tent" yelled at them.
The sprinklers at 0400 was a bit of a shock lucky I get up early. Loved the noises of the animals and felt very safe. Would definitely come back and also recommend to friends.

We are very happy at Lakeview Park, Kakadu to hear that you enjoyed your stay in a Bush Bungalow. We are currently looking at ways to soften the sounds of door closing. The sprinklers you heard in the early hours are to deter the Flying Foxes from roosting in the trees above. One of the wonderful things about the Bush Bungalows are the sounds of the beautiful birds and animals that you arrise to in the morning.
Thank you for reviewing Lakeview Park, Kakadu.

We stayed four nights in a 2 bedroom cabin and it was fine. Basic but what you'd expect from a caravan park located where it is. It was clean, the beds comfortable and it had good storage space. The bedrooms came with both ceiling fans and air conditioners. The toilet and bathroom are in a separate building right outside the cabin's backdoor. Its not shared, just separate. It was only a few metres away from the cabin, it could be locked and was well lit so we had no problems with any necessary visits come night time. The cabin wasn't big space wise, so while it was fine for the three of us, a family of four or more would get by but may want to get out a bit before cabin fever set in. The kitchen area was fitted with the basics and we cooked in for most nights we were there, including availing of the BBQ. A television was there as well. I wouldn't say we had a noisy stay but there is a shared wall between cabins and there can be plenty of early risers as well. So don't expect it to be totally quiet during your stay but if you are used to staying in a caravan park, then its fine. An outside table and chairs allowed for an end of day beverage and wind down. Laundry is onsite. The staff were friendly and helpful. While conveniently located in Jabiru, its not the best signed posted of places, so have a good map of it especially if arriving in the dark. We'd happily stay there again.

Room Tip: I only say the rooms are average because it didn't come with all the bells and whistles a hotel...
