The name of this cafe says it all, it is like going through a secret door with Alice! Great atmosphere, very peaceful and delicious food, popular with locals as well as tourists.

“Very very tasty”
Reviewed February 8, 2014 via mobile

Really lovely cafe in gorgeous garden surroundings, and an art gallery.

Breakfast was divine. Eggs Benny with Bacon and sweet Roasted tomatoes were superb, as was the avo & feta smash with poached eggs and a side of bacon. One of the nicest cafe breakfasts we've had in a long time.

Would absolutely recommend to others and will return again.

“A hidden gem worth seeking out!”
Reviewed February 3, 2014

Wow- this place is a little bit "out of the way" (ok, only really about 2 minutes from the town centre) but boy was it worth it.

Our breakfasts were creative and flavour packed; the coffees were sensational, and the setting & art works on sale were first rate...so much so that our breakfast bill grew substantially due to a necklace or two that were purchased!

Honestly, if you love great breakfasts, or great coffee, or just great local art works, then make sure you seek out Up The Garden Path, any small amount of effort to do so will be very well rewarded.

“A Motueka Gem”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

We recently spent a week in Motueka and were disappionted with the quality of the restaurants in the area until we came across this little gem for lunch.
Great food and service and could not fault the place.
Do try the lamb fillet wrap, fantastic.
We arrived just before the lunch time rush and managed to get a table but suggest booking to avoid disappointment.
