Myself and a partner stopped at the Aura Guest House in Mablethorpe near the Queen's Park. We booked in for three nights on the 6th of Sept 20112. The positives are: A cheap price, decent breakfasts, tastefully furbished, and meticulously clean. The negatives are: small room which we could put with.
However, the one big negative thing was having to vacate the premises at 10am prompt. I don't mind adhering to this on the day of departure in fact we usually leave well before that time.
On the first morning after breakfast we were disturbed by a knock on the door, my partner opened the door, it was the owner's wife who wanted to service the room, my partner told her that I was in the shower, but she seemed a bit put out. A few minute later another knock came and it was the owner with a screw driver in his hand who wanted to repair a towel rail in which I'd reported earlier, I said, why not do it now, he said, no, I prefer to do it when the room's empty, he then went onto read the riot act, so to speak: He pointed to a notice on the wall which stated that we should be out of the room by 10am. We then hurriedly got dressed and vacated the room.
On the day of departure immediately after breakfast we returned to our room at 8.30am to find that they'd been into our room, changed the bedding and removed the pillows and cups. It all seemed a bit like let's get you out as quickly as possible etc.
I have stopped at large hotels where this isn't an issue, the cleaner just asks if you want any more tea bags etc and leaves it at that.
I go on holiday to get away from a regime where I'm up 5.30am every day to my daily toil, however, I don't want another regime when I go on a holiday.
