“Terrible Dinner”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2009

on saturday evening my friend and myself had what was supposed to be dinner! The table we were at was dirty scratched and very tatty. The 1st course of prawn cocktail was a very dirty plate with dirty greesy thumb marks on it ,The prawns were on this plate not even covered with a awful sauce ,the salad was a lump of lettus and on the same plate was a heel of shop bought wheaten bread with a butter in paper on top.
The main course was a steak??? onions on top and a doloup of chips on the side.
The only saving grace was the desert It was good clearly not prepared by the same chef.
Why do managment think this is ok to serve to anybody. In this climate we should be doing everying to encourage business not driving it away.So dispointing and I will never be back .

I stay in the Boathouse at least 5 days per month whilst on business in the north and I find it a pleasure - the rooms are always clean and tidy and you have two bars and two restaurants to chose from for food - excellent value for money and the staff are always extreamly helpful.

Location seemed promising, as a group we were in Warrenpoint for a special location. Service was basic, noise level was huge, cleanliness was at best questionable and attitude of reception staff and manager had to be experienced to be believed. Commitments made were not honoured and responses from manager to questions/complaints were aggressive.

We have actively boycotted the establishment since having made numerous visits back to South Down.

just want to assure other future travellers that maybe were like me after reading other reviews i was a bit hesitant about going for my stay, i am very happy to say i found the complete opposite to some of the reviews, the room was spotless as was the bathroom, the food and choice of it was excellent, we had a very enjoyable stay and found the staff we dealt with very helpful and extremely friendly, we plan to go back again in the near future, thumbs up fro this traveller

stayed here , was ok service, receptionist not a nice person, and if you get a family room, make sure you bring your own crash helmet, cos the room has a slopeing celing, and a bed is under the slope, and , i banged my head numouros times, which i might add was quite painful, ...so remember folks , crash helmets not supplied, bring your own.

We arrived on Saturday 30th May after 12noon and was told our room wasn't ready so we went for a walk. Came back half hour later got the key for our room and found that the beds were not made, bottles over the room, dirty towels in the bathroom. The lady on reception didn't even apologise just said the maids will clean it soon. We were told if you go into the nightclub before 11pm that night it's free so we decided to make our way in at 10.45pm when the bouncer said to our friend it's £6 in and she said we were told it's free before 11pm and i'm not paying in which he replied saying do I give a (----. I told the other bouncer about how rude he was and he didn't seem to care. He was so rude. We then went to bed about 1.00am but couldn't sleep with the noise from the people outside below our room shouting etc. I think we finally went to sleep after 4.00am when the people outside got taxis and walked off. We were so tired the next morning and was not a restful sleep at all. We then went for breakfast at 10am when the girl brought out a pot of tea and coffee she spilt the tea over my boyfriends leg. Too many things happened in just 1 nights stay at the Boathouse Inn and would never return. When I read the reviews before booking here I thought they can't be that bad but it was worse. NEVER STAY HERE UNLESS YOU PLAN TO GET VERY DRUNK AND EASILY GO TO SLEEP.

We stayed at this hotel on two occasions- rooms were of good size - breakfast was very big- staff were very nice. The only thing i would say getiing in or out of the hotel after hours was a bit difficult .
