Firstly let me say our holiday overall was disappointing- so may make my review more negative than it should be. We had horrendous weather - bearing in mind it was August, and would honestly not visit this far North again.
The hotel location was brilliant - a few steps outside of the door and you are on the beach. However the beach itself wasn’t great. Quite a lot of litter, very sharp pebbles, and when it rains heavily (which it did repeatedly) the dry river bed next to the hotel becomes a river once more and brown, muddy water runs into the sea and takes a few days to settle. Nobody expects to swim in brown bracken/branch strewn sea in Greece.
The accommodation itself is basic but very clean, and I can not say enough good things about the staff. All outstanding, all super friendly, always there. Gifts on arrival and departure.
Lovely to have a hotel pool, but got very busy quickly as it’s quite small. There is an outdoor toilet for pool and bar users - beware the super low door frame which did a fair amount of damage to some taller users!
The accommodation menu is extensive, and prices are in line with the rest of the resort. Never had a bad meal there - would certainly recommend. The bar gets extremely busy in the evening as it has a huge screen with live sports, personally we loved this and weren’t bothered by any noise. We spent every evening at the bar and loved it.
The resort itself is ok, though we did feel there looked like much nicer places during the coach transfers. What we did love about Limenaria was the food - by far the best Greek resort we have stayed in for a very long time for quality, variety and pricing of food. Eating was a joy and rescued what would otherwise have been a very disappointing holiday.
A small number of the kind of shops you would expect in any Greek resort. Couple of medium sized supermarkets, nice little shopping area though this was incredibly busy in the evening. Found some very lovely souvenir shops. Prices overall were much cheaper than we’ve experienced in Greece for a very long time (example - kids bought an inflatable that cost less than half what we paid on our last Greek holiday).
Conclusion - resort had great food, but the beach was a big let down. Hotel accommodation was pretty basic, but the staff did everything they could to make it a better experience.
