“Excellent Choice”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

This is the 2nd time my wife and I have stayed at the 525 Hotel, we originally called in for a meal when the restaurant first opened several years ago & were so impressed with the premises that we vowed to come and stay in the hotel, having always rented apartments in Los Alcazares previously. It took us a few years to get round to it and our 1st stay was 3 years ago when it was part of the Husa chain and I am delighted to report that it has generally maintained its excellent standards. Rooms and suites are all clean, well equipped, comfortable & spacious with a very modern, boutique feel to the whole place. Service is very professional & unassuming, buffet style breakfasts are very good with a fine choice of continental & English styles and the central location is perfect - 10 minute walk to the beach - good restaurants/bars nearby and only a 10 minute taxi ride from the airport.. Importantly, it is a peaceful, quiet hotel with a lovely ambience and none of the `live` music/dance evenings we heard from the Costa Narejos Hotel down the road (apologies to those members who may enjoy that sort of thing). Highly recommended for people of all ages and we will be back as soon as possible. The only reason I didn`t give it an excellent mark is because of the rooftop pool service, I realise we shouldn`t expect too much of a boutique hotel in this respect but if you are going to advertise the service, add a few more sunbeds and make sure the spa/pool towel service is efficient - we once had to wait 25 minutes. In addition, as the restaurant is now closed by and large, why not utilise the adjacent terrace space - its a lovely suntrap??

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms adjacent to the square in high season - all rooms are spacious, no great views...

Just returned from a 4 night stay and glad we picked this hotel. 5mins and 8euros in a taxi from Murcia check in very quick and simple. Staff we found to be helpful.

Room was large with shower over bath and toilet bidet etc. we had room overlooking square. Room was very large yet simply furnished, minibar fridge, safe, hair dryer table and chairs. The air con was ok for our stay during April but wouldn't fancy it in the height of the summer as wasn't very efficient.

Spa area was lovely, was deserted when we were there, few sun loungers (about 10) but nice big cushions and towels provided, although did have to call down to get some sent up a few times but this was never a bother. The view was really nice out to the sea and outdoor hot tub was heated although pool very cold. Sat watching Spanish version of red arrows practicing from nearby airport on 2 days but no other disruption from airport as not too many take offs or landings.

Location was fab straight into small square with supermarket and cafes/bars then small, friendly strip with bars and restaurants.

Booked this for short break for some sunshine was not disappointed and would definitely visit again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a "junior suite" and the positives were the place is spotless and the hotel very modern, free underground parking and a great rooftop pool area.

The less than positives, on checking in the reception guy whilst not unhelpful wasn't exactly helpful either did just enough never a smile, the young lady on reception much friendlier.
Also No Kettle in the room so you cant have a cuppa when you want and room service forget it I asked Mr Friendly on reception but his response was "we do not supply Kettles" apparently he reckons Spanish hotels do not do this! well I have stayed in many Spanish hotels that do supply Kettles so either take your own plus tea bags etc or do without.
Breakfast, look its a Spanish hotel not catering for International travellers so if you are expecting anything like an English breakfast you will be disappointed, the usual fare breads & pastries, cold meats & cheese, they had a I think scrambled egg it was dried out when I looked and Frankfurters & boiled Bacon. not the best but if you like continental it will do, otherwise go into the square next door plenty of places serving breakfast.

The "junior suite room 301 we had" well I must say the Bed was large the room was spotless although it had a sofa and chair with a small coffee table I would say that half the total room size was wasted in that from the entrance hallway to the bed area the hallway must have been over 50% of the total size what an absolute waste of space. They have a digital safe and Hairdryer as and decent toiletries, the TV only has 2 English channels Sky news & BBC world news no UK programmes although they have German & French programmes.
Its a pity as with a little bit of thought and not a lot of effort this could be a top class International Hotel unfortunately its not its just adequate.

Room Tip: Anywhere not close to the lift and ask for a room overlooking the square

We have just returned from 3 nights/4 days in Los Alcazares. Despite 2 days of persistent rain we had a lovely time. The Hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are extremely helpful and courteous.
The rooms are very spacious and modern. We had a room with a small balcony overlooking the square so we could people watch those sitting in cafes (when not raining!). The hotel has a lovely Spa area with a Sauna, Jacuzzi, Turkish Steam room and a small exercise area. It also has an outdoor swimming pool with a great terrace for sunbathing (Weather permitting). The Buffet breakfast was excellent. Fresh fruit, cereals, breads, bacon and scrambled egg. Whatever you would wish for was available. The Bar is a lovely place to spend early evening the waitress was so lovely (Julia I think her name was). We would go each evening for a few drinks before going out to dinner.
The area is lovely with an abundance of Cafes and restaurants (some were closed as its very early in the season) and is a very short walk to the beach, with a promenade which goes for miles in either direction.

We ate in some nice restaurants and everyone is very friendly. Our favourite by far was L'Encarnacion- a traditional spanish restaurant with fantastic service and food. Also La Vid de Ojeda a small Tapas wine bar but excellent service and great value for money.
There are some great Golf Courses just a few minutes away. Enjoy!

This in an excellent hotel. The rooms and public areas are beautiful and the views from the roof terrace are stunning. It is ideally situated near the town centre but not far off the motorway and is only 10 minutes from Murcia airport. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. I accidentally left a pair of trousers in the wardrobe when we left, and when I contacted the hotel, they sent them by post to my address in the UK and didn't charge me a penny. Would definately recommend this place.

Superb hotel stayed here on a few occasions and its always been top notch!

Very handy for Murcia airport and short drive to Cartagena and La Manga as well as being in waking distance to Roda Golf Course!

Plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, banks and supermarkets around and 5 mins walk to beach at Mar Menor;)
