Had take out from this establishment, tasty chips, good batter on the fish To be fair, have only tried one other F/and C take out in Redcar and this was the best one .The only downside is the car parking to collect your meal. BEWARE THE TRAFFIC WARDENS!!!
Haven't found a F/and C shop as good as this in Stockton on Tees or Middlesbrough!!!

On my way to Whitby for the weekend, we made quite a detour deliberately to go to Russell's for a fish lunch, well worth the extra miles and easily as good as the much publicised Whitby establishments and better than some. Wonderful batter, sublime fish, we will be back again as soon as we can.

Oh, this moribund hot-spot of the North East could offer so much - a high street strewn with £1 shops but with the potential to die for and a Council yet to realise its Esplanade amusement park - seeking holiday makers stopped visiting when the Durham mines closed years ago. But, in a little nook between the above two, sits Russells Fish Restaurant. Basic, simple and clean, yet bright and cheery, the young alert and smart serving girls add a vibrance to the neatly and evenly-priced fish fayre. Clearly, Redcar's 'locals' take regular lunches here and it is no surprise that a similar fish restaurant, only 20 feet opposite, was empty. One tip, the 'upstairs room' needs an 'input' of the same 'warmth' as downstairs. Nevertheless highly recommended.

I would go back to this restaurant just to meet the waitress again. She was so pleasant and friendly and even cooled my coffee for me. It was a very large portion of fish and the quality of the food was excellent. The price was reasonable and the service very good. The background music (Christmas) was suitably subdued and pleasant to listen to.
