“A Peaceful and Pleasant Stay”
Reviewed November 22, 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We only stayed for one night on a stopover to Snowdon however the cottage was beautiful and cosy, all of us said we'd love to visit again and stay for longer to enjoy the peaceful scenery. Added bonus was the beds were so comfy and warm! Thank you Jo

We arrived late and it took us a while to find the property.
Bedrooms are roomy. Beds comfortable.
On-suite shower room - pressure of shower not great.
The outside area is nice but sadly does not catch the sun in the afternoon/evening.
There are two living area's. The main living area is quite dark but there are standing lamps to give ample light. We did not use the second room; one larger room might be better.
Heating is by storage heaters and there is a wood burner.
Our stay was overshadowed by a fault in the electric system which resulted in 3 sleepless nights as it was impossible to sleep with the racket coming from the electric board. The owner should have taken action more quickly.

“A little piece of heaven”
Reviewed March 4, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We recently spent the feb half term at Heron Cottage - 2 adults and 2 teenage girls- and we had a really lovely, cosy and relaxing time. The cottage is gorgeous, immaculate, cosy yet with lots of space to spread out. The room sizes are very generous for a cottage particularly the bedrooms. The beds are super comfy and everything is provided (including a coffee machine and a cafetiere!) and thought through. Jo the owner really cares about giving her clients a great experience and has left no stone unturned. It's a joy to receive such great hospitality and is very much appreciated. The location is stunning with amazing views over the Shropshire hills. There is a local shop and a pub within a 5-10 min walk away which is always a big plus, and its location between Ludlow and Shrewsbury makes for some great days out, not to mention the myriad of charming towns and villages nearby. Thanks for a lovely holiday Jo; we'll be back!

“Outstanding views, peaceful and comfortable”
Reviewed July 12, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We were a small party of two couples staying for one week. The property is very roomy with all home comforts provided by the thoughtful owners. Everything you could possibly need is provided including many maps and leaflets on things to see and do in the area. Although you are within driving distance of several villages with amenities, you feel you are in the middle of nowhere as it is so peaceful. The views from the cottage are outstanding. We were very lucky with the weather and on some nights after the sun had set, the sky still looked bright and co!ourful at Midnight. The cottage is within driving distance of many National Trust properties as well as places of interest across the North East border of Wales where you can visit Llangollen and take a trip on the canal across the World Heritage aqueduct. Ludlow, Bridgenorth and Shrewsbury are all very nice to visit and the RAF museum at Cosford is about a 75 minute drive. In short, this is a great base for sightseeing in wonderful Shropshire and Wales. Even Chester is a relatively short distance away. The only thing I would have liked to make the property perfect would be a second W.C. in the property. The en suite bedroom has a sink and shower but no toilet. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and would stay here again if visiting Shropshire.

“A really beautiful location and a fabulous property.”

My family of four stayed in this lovely cottage for two nights for the new year. The whole experience was great.

The directions for finding the cottage were really useful and saved a lot of stress! It would, I imagine, be really tricky to find without them as it is wonderfully secluded - right in the hills and very peaceful but in walking distance of a shop and an easy drive to Shrewsbury. The house was perfect for rambling straight from the door and there are lots of other walks close by. Non-walkers would also find plenty to do. We enjoyed two of the museums at ironbridge.

The cottage itself was immaculate and cosy. It was warm, very clean and the furniture and decor were nice. It had everything we needed and the sofas and beds were particularly comfy. Our children are 7 and 5 and the property was fine for them but with wooden/stone flooring and lots of steps, it might not be ideal for toddlers. The owner was lovely and left us milk, butter, dishwasher tablets and a bottle of bucks fizz to help us see in the new year. There were other luxurious touches including soft towels, soaps, WiFi and a nice selection of books, games and dvds.
