“Beautiful quiet cosy cottage”

Curlew cottage made for a lovely weekend for my girlfriend and I. Jo was very welcoming and the lemon drizzle cake was a lovely surprise as a welcome! The cottage itself was very cosy, and had everything we wanted. The local area is very nice and easy to walk around. There are a couple of nice local pubs and a local shop for anything you might need to pop out for. There's also a farm shop on site that sells jams and pickles etc which were very nice.

“Beautiful cottage in picturesque countryside”
Reviewed October 14, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Just returned from a long weekend in Curlew cottage. We wanted a quiet location in which we could relax but also close enough to towns/villages for day trips and we weren't disappointed.
The cottage was just perfect for a couple with everything you need for a cosy and romantic stay. We were unfortunate with the weather but there were plenty of DVDs to watch in the cottage and a gorgeous big woodburner to drink tea by.
The cottage is set on a hillside with fields in every direction you look. Had we not had heavy rain we'd have definitely gone out exploring. The nearby pub, Abel's Harp, is worth a visit and walkable through fields and nearby farms.
Jo was exceptionally welcoming, making herself available but not intrusive and even left us a homemade cake for our arrival.
I would definitely recommend this place to others and would even look to return in the summer so we can make more of the scenery.

Thank you. If you come back in the Summer you won't be disappointed - the Shropshire Hills are glorious at any time of year but particularly lovely in the summertime.

“Excellent accommodation in the heart of the beautiful Shropshire countryside”
Reviewed September 9, 2013 for a stay in February 2013

I booked a long weekend away with my wife with a view to walking in the Shropshire hills and enjoying the local pubs. I was not disappointed. The views from the cottages are fabulous and are set in a wonderful rural setting.
The moment we arrived we were met by the friendly owner (Jo) and she could not have been more helpful with advising on the best local walks, pubs and other activities in the region.
The cottage we stayed in was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and the bed after several long walks was very comfortable.
Would highly recommend a visit and we are already planning our next!
