“Wonderful place to stay for a family country holiday”
Reviewed June 6, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

A fantastic holiday cottage, very comfortable, quiet, roomy, well equipped and full of history and character. We all loved it. The garden area was particularly popular with the children.
The group had 4 adults and four children in it and we all fitted very comfortably.
Plenty of living and kitchen space.
Bishops Castle is a very nice small country town.
We would all love to visit Bailey End again.

Spacious, clean and great value for money.
We have returned year after year to Bailey End.
We have up to 9 people staying very comfortably, there is plenty of room even when everyone is "at home" and sitting round the table all eating together is wonderful.
The bedrooms are clean, bright and comfortable.
The village has everything you need including newsagents, 2 small supermarkets, a chemists, and some lovely "boutique" type specialist shops and there is a doctors surgery in case of emergency!
There are also some lovely places to eat and drink, including the Boars Head & Castle Hotels
There are plenty of places to visit within a short drive, including Church Stretton, Craven Arms, Ludlow, Montgomery & Welshpool.
An ideal base for a holiday in the wonderful Shropshire hills - we love it!

Bailey End was exactly what we wanted for a party of 8 with three dogs. It is cosy but with plenty of space. We were worried it would be cold but it was lovely and warm. The rooms are really comfortable and the location is great. There is everything you could need plus lots of books and a large fire in case you don't want to go out. We plan on going back

“Warm and Cosy Property in a Lovely Village.”

This is the third time the seven of us have stayed here so, yes, we think it's pretty good. There are one or two hiccups in that the smallest room is very small (ok for the bed but little room for clothes), the shower tray leaks water so make sure there's nothing on the bathroom, I've yet to use a shower head that sprays out of the designated holes rather than around the sides and the only parking is on the road. We tend to dump out kit off and park a few yards (metres) away from the door as the cars are not usually used again until we leave.
These small problems are far outweighed by the comfort of the beds, the warmth, cosiness and location of the property. To retunr from a long walk across country in cold weather and walking into a room with a log fire is a terrific experience.
The kitchen/diner is large, there are plenty of utensils (only a tater masher was missing) and the drawing room well laid out. The log fire is at the other end of the room to the television which works very well.
The wifi is included and is fast enough (I got over 10MB). There are plenty of places to eat nearby BUT it is advisable to book as Bishops Castle is very popular. If you're there on a Thursday night and like rock music then a walk to The Vaults is well worthwhile. You can take several walks from Welsh St and if you fancy going further afield then Shrewsbury is only an hour's bus ride away..
