“Who couldn't be happy in a brewery”
Reviewed August 19, 2012

Excellent brewery in Bishops Castle. I was amazed to find the attached Three Tuns pub is not a "Brewery Tap" i.e. owned by Brewery - but it does sell the produce in a very nice environment.

“Lovely lunch”
Reviewed August 18, 2012

Stopped by here on the off chance that were still serving food 2.30pm on a Saturday afternoon and luckily for us they were until 3 pm...... Husband had the chargriiled gammon and Hand cut chips with eggs huge portions and really good quality, I had the biggest ploughmans I've ever seen with a selection of really tasty local cheeses all washed down with pint from the brewery next door... Highly recommended, looking forward to trying their evening menu.

“bleak house”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

It was a bit glum when you walked in,and it did not get any better after a few pints,it reminded me of an old hippiy hangout left behind from the 70s.

“Best Beer in Shropshire - but beware the taxi.”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

This is a cracking brewery and the only problem you'll ever have with the beer is deciding which one to drink next. I have eaten here before and can attest to the quality of the food as well.

Not so good - in fact downright poor - was the Bishops Castle taxi service run by Rus Gromov - we booked a taxi back from the pub, and made it clear over the phone that there were six people and a little dog - I am used to taxis not accepting dogs, so I always make it a point to explain there is a dog with us. The dog in question is a Westie, so not huge. Not wet, and not badly behaved. Every other place in Bishops Castle seemed to be dog-friendly, so we thought that a firm booking had been made.
The taxi driver explained that he couldn't take six, so we would need two trips. We were going about three miles so we agreed on a total of sixteen pounds. When the taxi turned up, the driver lied and stated I had not informed him that we had a dog, and refused to take it. This left us a bit stranded, since we had relied on the taxi for the end of the evening. It left a sour note on what was otherwise a really good time - so if you're visiting Bishops Castle, drink in the Tuns, but avoid Rus's taxi.
