It was a bit glum when you walked in,and it did not get any better after a few pints,it reminded me of an old hippiy hangout left behind from the 70s.

This is a cracking brewery and the only problem you'll ever have with the beer is deciding which one to drink next. I have eaten here before and can attest to the quality of the food as well.

Not so good - in fact downright poor - was the Bishops Castle taxi service run by Rus Gromov - we booked a taxi back from the pub, and made it clear over the phone that there were six people and a little dog - I am used to taxis not accepting dogs, so I always make it a point to explain there is a dog with us. The dog in question is a Westie, so not huge. Not wet, and not badly behaved. Every other place in Bishops Castle seemed to be dog-friendly, so we thought that a firm booking had been made.
The taxi driver explained that he couldn't take six, so we would need two trips. We were going about three miles so we agreed on a total of sixteen pounds. When the taxi turned up, the driver lied and stated I had not informed him that we had a dog, and refused to take it. This left us a bit stranded, since we had relied on the taxi for the end of the evening. It left a sour note on what was otherwise a really good time - so if you're visiting Bishops Castle, drink in the Tuns, but avoid Rus's taxi.
