Description: The famous and historic Three Tuns Inn, (known locally as 'The Tuns') set at the top of Bishops Castle has been open since 1642! A deceptively large interior offers lounge, conservatory, snug, front bar and function room. Standing on the site of the oldest licensed brewery in the U.K, The Tuns offers modern eclectic cuisine using simple locally sourced ingredients in a happy, friendly, bustling environment and of course serves a wonderful array of real ales from the on site brewery. Pub and brewery are now separate businesses, but work very closely together to help create a truly worthwhile and memorable visit to this hidden gem of a market town, hidden away in the Shropshire hills, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.

I went there and have a blast, it's the inn, the pub and the brewery. Hope you can go and taste the beer!

“Eating out December 2012”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

We have been here in the past week. Service good. Food is ok if possibly not so locally sourced as is said
On the whole mot a bad place to go but not a star.
They are friendly and welcoming if tending towards a corporate place unexpected in remote countryside and I would not advise as a special trip out as opposed to just finding somewhere in the locality.
The brewery next door brews good beer and is available here but may be a separate business.

“Old, authentic, warm and cozy”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Great atmosphere and good food at reasonable prices. Far more adventurous menu that other area pubs. Great steaks. Great stroganoff. Really not fair to call it a pub. Great selection of real ales made there and sold all over the area. The selection of other beer and wine is good. Make time to visit. Memorable place.

“good food, good (their own) beer, and a warm welcome”
Reviewed December 2, 2012

The pub / restaurant serves their own brews and good pub grub at sensible prices. The rooms are pleasant and roomy and when we visited ther was a roaring fire in the hearth. Sometimes the smell of food at the door can be a bit overpowering, dont be put off its well worth going in.

“Lovely setting - great food”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

Great food - lovely dining area overlooking the brewery. A starter of courgette bhajis highly recommended and great value wines. Nice atmosphere - and warm welcome. Guess if it were busy could be a bit noisy - but we had a great meal and thoroughly recommend this place.
